Smart Parrot Does Trick That Makes The Crowd Go Wild

When it comes to teaching a bird some tricks, the first thing that comes to mind are words. They are not ticks per se, but when people come over and they are greeted with “Hello” and “wanna snack?” by a colorful little birdy, it is a great conversation starter, not to mention an awesome way to entertain.

But if this gorgeous parrot is any indication, you can also teach these exotic birds to do all sorts of tricks! These two humans have started with the simplest of tricks, the “roll over”. The woman is indicating her bird Shadow that he should roll around on his back with a stick, twirling it in circles.

At first the birdy looks completely taken aback by the twirling object, but after hearing the command, he lays on his side and turns around, a full and complete roll over! The humans were ecstatic with his successful completion of the trick, offering his a treat the minute he gets up on his feet. Good boy!

In fact, there are several tricks you can train your parakeet to do that are fairly easy. You can teach the bird to “step up”, which is the most valuable and fundamental command that all birds should know. You can teach it to wave “hello”, which is super quick and easy. If you want to, you can potty train your bird, however impossible that may sound and of course, you can teach it to talk.

Just be sure to have plenty of treats laying around and a lot of positive words for your hardworking parrot!
