Vladimir Kara-Murza (VKM) is a Russian journalist. In April 2023, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the crime of free speech. [0]

Here, his wife is interviewed by CNN's Erin Burnett. The interview was conducted on 11 February 2024, a few days after VKM was transferred to Russia's most notorious prison facility, where he is in solitary confinement.

This interview is notable because it formed part of the American response to Tucker Carlson's February 2024 softball interview of Vladimir Putin. Burnett seeks to distinguish in black and white the conduct of public affairs in her country versus in Russia.

This is by far the best such news report that came to these eyes to date, 12 February.

The contrast between political systems might be helped by a few words on United States v. Eichman, 496 U.S. 310 (1990), the flag desecration case [1] in which it was decided that the First Amendment prevented Congress from making a law to prohibit burning the flag of the United States.

That's how much difference exists between the two political systems, and why Truckler Carlson erred madly.
