Runs 2:44 | Sept. 14, 1980 - Gary Danielson’s 9-day-old daughter died Thursday night in a Detroit Hospital, but Danielson rose above his grief Sunday and collaborated with Billy Sims to lead the Lions past the Packers, 29-7. Danielson completed 11 of 17 passes for 246-yards, one of them to Billy Sims for an 87-yard touchdown. Sims, in just his second game as a Lion, rushed for 20 times for 134 yards and a TD. “Gary inspired all of us,” Sims said. “After the game was almost finished, I told him I did it for him. He had a tragedy in his family, and I just felt for him. I think we all did.”
