Parents Say “Enough”
On January 23, 2024 the Irvine Unified School District held its regular Board of Directors meeting but this was no ordinary meeting. Approximately 100 parents and concerned citizens arrived to speak on the topic of Parents Rights and Parental Notification. Their goal was to convince the Board to create a policy where parents will be notified when their child is transitioning. Currently Irvine schools and many of the schools in Orange County are not required to notify parents when their child is transitioning. In this video we show highlights from the Public Comments and interview a number of the parents.
Given the sensitivity of this topic, viewer discretion is advised.
