The C.P.D.C.’s Five Years of Warnings and Recommendations for the Way Ahead

For the past five years, the Committee on the Present Danger: China (CPDC) has striven to reprise a role played by the original Committee on the Present Danger nearly fifty years ago: Awakening the American people and their elected representatives about the time’s “existential threat to freedom” and presenting strategies for defeating that threat. CPD 1.0 was instrumental in one of its members’ securing a mandate for taking down the Soviet Union in the course of Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential bid and executing that mandate successfully once in office. Today’s CPD: China seeks to do the same to an enemy that far surpasses the menace posed by the USSR: the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

At this moment, leading members of the CPDC are meeting at a Summit in Washington, D.C., to take stock of the global conflict that has – notwithstanding the Committee’s best efforts to date – been sparked by the CCP’s pyromaniacal emperor, Xi Jinping. While some call it World War III, a more accurate descriptor given the serial conflagrations he has engineered to date and those now in prospect would be World War Xi.

This CPDC webinar shares highlights of the previous day’s CPDC Members’ Summit and insights into both the war now underway, what may be in the offing and what the United States must do without further delay if it – and what is left of the Free World – are to survive the CCP’s three decades of truly “unrestricted warfare” and Xi’s accelerating strategic arson. The webinar features presentations by members who served during the summit as Lead Discussants for their respective topics.
