Knox Zajac read the scene in a noticeably prepubescent voice. The book Knox Zajac read, “Nick and Charlie,” by Alice Oseman describes a gay sex scene between two teens.But for the school librarian who saw Knox Zajac check out the book, exposing an 11-year-old to sexually explicit words wasn’t enough, he said. The librarian also recommended similar books. “This book was at my middle school and was on a stand. When I rented it out to show my Dad it, the librarian asked if I wanted more, and if I wanted a graphic novel version,” Knox Zajac said in a video posted by Maine parental rights advocate Shawn McBreairty. At that, the room gasped. But according to father Adam Zajac, the librarian was the one gasping when Knox Zajac announced he was checking the book out for his Dad to inspect. “Her face immediately turned red. She got very uncomfortable and started stuttering,” said Adam Zajac. Adam Zajac said his son offered to read passages from the book before the school board. “My son Knox really wanted to attend,” he said. Then Knox Zajac asked if he could read a passage from the book to the meeting that included a curse word and a sexually explicit description. “You know what? If it was good enough to be in your schools and it’s okay for them to sign that out to you, yes. You can,” Adam Zajac replied. When Adam Zajac heard his child’s voice reading the words, he felt a rising anger, he said. “As soon as I heard him, it got me so upset listening to the book. I’m glad he read that page,” he said. “It immediately made it easy for me to say what I said about the podium.” Adam unloaded on the meeting. “You know who knows the best for our children? The parents,” he told the meeting. “I don’t work anymore, and I will be more than happy to focus my time and effort for the security of my child and children in this school. I will be a thorn in your sides. So, I just want you to be aware of what you’ve awoken.” Knox Zajac first found “Nick and Charlie” while looking for books at the WMS library. He had heard his high school-age brother discussing how his school had the book “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe with his father Adam Zajac. Parents nationwide have fought against the presence of the graphic novel “Gender Queer” in school libraries because of the book’s explicit pictures of sexual positions and solo sex. Mature Content for Middle Schoolers Shocked by the inappropriate content in “Nick and Charlie,” Knox Zajac checked it out to show his father. “Dad, you have to look at this library book that I got,” Knox Zajac told him. Adam Zajac said “Nick and Charlie” started with normal pictures of two teen boys hanging out. But then he flipped over a page and found a picture of the two boys deep in a straddled makeout session. “It frustrated the hell out of me,” Adam Zajac said. Adam Zajac said he felt outraged that a middle school library would contain a book rampant with explicit sexual descriptions, endorsements of casual sex, teen drinking, and 37 curse words. “Everyone should go into uni single!! University years are your sexiest years!! Gotta bang as many people as you can!!!!” one quote from the book reads, according to the obscene book watchdog website. “He lied to people at school for months about his anorexia,” reads another. “‘I want a drunk hookup in the bathroom later,’ he murmurs, and then he walks off before I have the chance to answer him,” one character says. “Like one minute you’re seriously pissed off with me and the next you want to [expletive] with me!” another line reads. Battling the School Board In the school board meeting, Adam Zajac said he fought WMS to remove “Nick and Charlie.” He first alerted the school board to the book on Feb. 18, he said, but he doubts the school will take action to remove it. “They write policies that make it extremely difficult to get these books removed,” he said. Although it may be easy to get books with sex scenes into the hands of children as young as 10 years old, it’s difficult to get them out, Adam Zajac said. A book removal challenge can take four months to process and makes parents jump through many administrative hoops, he said. Most of the time, parents give up rather than engage in a drawn-out battle with the bureaucracy.Right now, Adam Zajac said he hopes national media coverage of his story will force the school board to act. “I’m so thankful that there’s a national spotlight on this to really give us an opportunity nationwide to get this crap out of the schools and this indoctrination of our children out of there,” he said. He added that he’s not sure his efforts will result in the book’s removal. Few Activists Versus Many Parents Despite the school’s reluctance, he estimates that nearly 80 percent of local parents want “Nick and Charlie” out of middle school libraries. Even so, he said, WMS appears intimidated by the small percentage of the community that appreciates the books. “I really think the only people that were there for the book were these librarians and activists that were called upon to come in there and stand up,” he said. As of now, the school hasn’t removed “Nick and Charlie” from the school library, Adam Zajac said. “Nick and Charlie” isn’t the only book in the Windham school system with sexually explicit images, he added. In Maine’s School District 14, there are 68 books with sexually explicit passages, he said. But he was unsure how these books were divided between middle school and high school. He said he hopes local parents will wake up to the fact that schools are willing to give children sexually graphic books but hesitant to remove them. “Sexualization has no place in our schools,” he said. “And this is taxpayer-funded. So, in my opinion, this should be a majority-rule situation,” The Epoch Times reached out to WMS but received no response. As previously reported, many Maine public schools have defied parents to thrust explicit books and transgender identities on students. In one Maine school, a counselor secretly encouraged a 13-year-old girl to identify as transgender. A new curriculum for Maine schools starts teaching children as young as kindergarten about transgender teddy bears, red-labeled crayons that identify as blue, and homosexual penguins. In Hermon, Maine, a teacher told parents to take their children elsewhere if they didn’t trust teachers.

But he showed concern for the possibility that his secret political intentions could be recorded and made public. “Politics is basically my job now. I am political in every conversation I have. If you can do the game, you can do the good work,” he said. “I actually thought of running a [educational] session but then there’s this political side -- that someone could be recording inside the room -- and politically that could be suicide.” The administrator shared his beliefs when it came to sexual education in school. “My sexual identity was always a part of my work because I believe in making connections with kids,” Casamento said. “So, the conservative movement will say -- and I got to tell you, I am not opposed to this question: ‘Why do we need to sexualize kids at a young age?’ After the pandemic, we had an explosion of trans kids, and I’m like, ‘How could this be?’” Casamento said he tries to weed out potential conservative candidates who apply for a teaching position in his district. “I think I said this before, but people don’t give up power, you have to take it from them…You stop hiring those types of people [conservatives]…We created a whole rubric for hiring in light of DEI,” he said. “It’s all secret. So, I would rank them [conservatives] so low [in their interview process] that their score couldn’t possibly raise them up to the level of moving on to the cabinet.”

Rev. John Amanchukwu appeared before the Asheville City School Board of EducationFo on Monday to raise the alarm over a book that the board has approved for school libraries in the district. But when he tried to read aloud some of the book’s inappropriate content, the board quickly tried to shut him down. Stacy Langton explained, “After seeing a September 9 school board meeting in Texas on pornography in the schools, I decided to check the titles at my child’s school, Fairfax High School.” Langton held up the two books singled out at the Texas school board meeting that are also available in several public high schools in Fairfax County. She said that “both of these books include pedophilia, [and] sex between men and boys.” “Both books describe different acts,” she added. “One book describes a fourth-grade boy performing oral sex on an adult male. The other book has detailed illustrations of a man having sex with a boy.” Langton added, “The illustrations include fellatio, sex toys, masturbation and violent nudity.” She read aloud from one of the books, Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe: “I can’t wait to have your c**k in my mouth. I am going to give you the b**w job of your life and then I want you inside me.” She then read an excerpt from the other book, titled Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison: “What if I told you I touched another guy’s d**k? What if I told you I sucked it? I was 10 years old but it’s true. I s**ked Doug Goble’s d**k, the real estate guy, and he s**ked mine too.” As Langton maintained that “this is not an oversight at Fairfax High School,” a school board member interrupted and told her that “there are children in the audience here.” In an article on Substack, Asra Normani, the vice president for strategy and investigations at the grassroots advocacy organization Parents Defending Education, who attended the meeting, disputed the assertion that children were present at the meeting. Langton, who didn’t appreciate the board member's interruption of her time to speak, added: “Do not interrupt my time. I will stand here until my time is restored and my time is finished. These books are in stock and available in the libraries of Robinson, Langley and Annandale High Schools.” A school board member then suggested that teenagers’ access to the books is OK because they’re only available “for high school students.” However, the majority of high school students are younger than 18, which is the age of consent in Virginia. Before her time was up, Langton replied to the board member’s assertion, saying, “Pornography is offensive to all people; it is offensive to common decency.” When Langton’s time came to a close, the school board attempted to introduce the next speaker as many in the crowd gave the mother a round of applause. Langton remained at the podium as parents expressed their anger at the school board by chanting, “Go to jail!” As a security official tried to escort her away from the podium, Langton alleged that “This board is in violation of the law of the state of Virginia called 18.2-376! This board should be charged accordingly!” The law cited by Langton is one of Virginia’s “Crimes Involving Morals and Decency.” It declares that “It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly prepare, print, publish, or circulate, or cause to be prepared, printed, published or circulated, any notice or advertisement of any obscene performance or exhibition.” Another member of the audience remarked that “this is child pornography and every one of you all should be arrested for allowing this bullcrap to be perpetrated in our schools and infecting the minds of these children.” In response to the criticism, one member of the board, Karl Frisch, took to Twitter and implicitly defended the inclusion of the book in high school libraries: “It’s not every week the School Board receives two exorcisms during public comment. To be clear, nothing will disrupt our Board’s commitment to LGBTQIA+ students, families, and staff. Nothing.” Fairfax County Public Schools released a statement Friday announcing that “The circulation of these books has been suspended, while a committee reviews and makes recommendations about the text.” After outlining the process for the “Request for Reconsideration of Library or Instructional Material,” the statement indicated that two committees had been formed to determine whether to remove the books from the schools. “Each committee will include two teachers, two parents, one school-based administrator, one member of the Equity and Cultural Responsiveness team, and two high school students. Each year, we identify potential committee members by working with our schools and regions. The committee members will be randomly selected from the list, though we will ensure that the students selected are 18 years of age given the concerns.” The controversy is the latest example of school boards facing pushback over some of the material taught to children in public schools. In nearby Loudoun County, Virginia, parents read aloud similar literature their high school children were exposed to in a high school English class at a school board meeting this past spring. Earlier this month, Mayor Craig Shubert of Hudson, Ohio, called on the school board to resign or face criminal charges for allowing a book titled, 642 Things to Write About. The book features sexually explicit writing prompts intended for use in a college-level English class taught in the district’s high school. Like Langton and parents in Loudoun County, parents of students in the Hudson City School District read some of the sexually explicit writing prompts that children taking the class were asked to write about to the board. Prompts students were asked to write about included instructions to “explain a time when you wanted to orgasm but couldn’t” and “write a sex scene you wouldn’t show your mom.” Concerns about the kind of material children are exposed to in public schools have led to the foundation of several advocacy organizations, including Parents Defending Education and the 1776 Project PAC, which seeks to “get school board people in there who can actually start reversing it.” This list of the most commonly challenged books in the United States refers to books sought to be removed or otherwise restricted from public access, typically from a library or a school curriculum. Tis a very long list indeed of hidden, banned, forbidden, censored, condemned, cursed, and even burned books. These writings of the banned, holy scriptures were once used by other versions or branches of Christianity that existed in antiquity before it became illegal for them to assemble in public, copy and, heaven forbid! circulate their alternative gospels within the boundaries of the Roman Empire. Though much has been forever lost, some of these books of the Other Bible have been rescued from destruction. We owe a great deal of gratitude to those freedom-loving and open-minded Jews, Pacomian monks, Christians and Gnostics in Eastern Europe, Egypt, Ethiopia, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Armenia who risked much to translate and thus preserve many of these Other Books for future generations, for all time to come. In the case of the fifty books of the Nag Hammadi library, there were Coptic parchments removed from a near-by monastery library in Upper Egypt and buried in a large clay storage jar not far from some caves near the Nile. This clay jar ended up being a kind of time capsule that was unearthed one thousand seven hundred years later. One definition of the word “apocryphal” is a holy book used in someone else’s version of Christianity — somebody else’s religion — somebody who went to a different church on Sunday…. or Saturday, or not at all, and yet are rejected by the big church. In a land where everyone is not free to follow the religion of their choice, one person’s treasure of inspiration is another’s kindling. If it’s banned, it must be good! or at least informative and of historic value. Banned Sayings of Jesus — He Made the List Too It may interest you to know that, on the list of forbidden scriptures is included, believe it or not, an impressive early collection of the sayings of Jesus known as the Gospel of Thomas, also the Books of Enoch the Prophet. Hey Jude! First Enoch, included amongst the Dead Sea Scrolls — the Essene Bible, and later the Ethiopian Bible, was quoted by Jude in his short New Testament letter. Actually, the Epistle of Barnabas and several major and well-known early church fathers also quoted Enoch, referring to it as “scripture”, once upon a time in what was apparently a somewhat different Christianity back then. Having Enoch included as one’s “scripture” would have made for a radically different religion, much more in touch with it’s Essene Jewish roots. Jude also quoted, back in those free-wheeling grass roots days before the age of book-banning, another scripture eventually forbidden called, The Assumption of Moses. John the Revelator It’s interesting to see that the Book of Revelation was banned for awhile. Fascinating to witness! The Book of Revelation by “John” eventually, after years of haggling amongst various factions, ended up as the last book of the “Constintinian” or Orthodox New Testament of the Empire. It has been the focus of so many prophecy speculators, prophecy mongers and cult-abusers over the centuries. Several other books that are now in Catholic Bibles were once banned — books of “The Apocrypha”. Those were and are part of the Greek Septuagint of Alexandria, literally the Old Testament of the early church (including the book of Judith, other women, also Tobit books of Maccabees, and some very important books of Wisdom). The original King James Version of the Bible in English published in 1611 contained those other books, but now they have largely disappeared in the Protestant world. Of course! as you might have guessed, the writings attributed to Mary Magdalene made the list, as well as that of another women apostle/leader in early Christianity: Thecla. The Odes of Love And the Odes of Solomon was condemned as well. That’s one of my personal favorites. It’s a very beautiful, devotional (bhakti), Sufi-like, eloquent, soul-stirring and very deeply spiritual collection of new testament age psalms. Imagine if you will psalms that sound like they were composed by Rumi. That may give you some idea of what the Book of the Odes is like. I’m glad I am able to own a copy — I have six translations of the Odes. Wisdom Rejected Even the Sentences of Sextus made the banned list. I really like that one a lot. It’s a wonderful collection of proverbs, very valuable. Parts of it were unearthed amongst the Nag Hammadi library discovery in Upper Egypt a few decades back. I have many of the books on this list, especially the Gnostic ones, and some of them represent great literature, the “sutras” and “upanishads” of the Western world, banned by the “Tali-ban” of their day, hardline rulers (archons) devoid of any notion of religious freedom for anyone other than themselves. Note the official-but-not-so-spiritual-sounding shunning ceremony or “hex-curse” at the beginning of the first banned list: “…convened by the emperor Constantius, the son of Constantine, through the prefect Taurus is damned from then and now and for ever…”, then comes a VERY long list of books to be excommunicated. Krumbacher, Gesch. d. Byz. Literatur, 2nd ed. (1897), pp. 349ff.) there is a canon catalogue, the origin of which indeed has not been clearly settled, but which ought perhaps to be located in Jerusalem. Yes, picture books get challenged too! These kids' books (listed in no particular order) have been challenged (and in some cases, banned) for a variety of reasons. There are lots of reasons that books can be challenged or event banned. Often the reasons are political, legal, religious or moral. Sometimes books are challenged when a person reads only a small portion or relies on reviews they have read or heard to determine suitability. Public libraries usually follow intellectual freedom policies that guide their decisions when a member of the public challenges a book or other item. Intellectual freedom means that each person has the right to decide what they want to read, watch, or listen to (within the limits of the law). If a person objects to a book, they are free not to read it, but they do not have the right to prevent others from reading it. Parents and guardians can choose what their children read, watch or listen to, but cannot make that decision for other children. Most libraries have a form to fill out to voice concerns about specific items, and sometimes actions will be taken like moving a book from the children's to the teen section or (more rarely) removing it from the library (for instance, if it contains outdated information). Often books that present a different viewpoint or a new situation are an excellent opportunity for parents to have a discussion with their children. Public libraries have a mandate to provide a variety of materials from a variety of points of view to their customers, but other libraries have different mandates. For instance, a school library must support curriculum.

McAndrew said that Rasti’s remarks raise concerns. “It’s just very concerning that he would lose that judgment -- of the difference between what position he is in,” McAndrew said. “Concern with the fact that this is where his mindset is. His mindset is not in welcoming back a teenager who is a student, but instead, he’s obsessed with a sexual connotation or the sexual aspect of that student. Why his mind would go there is very concerning. Again, fantasy is one thing, thinking it is another thing. But when he has blurred the lines and started to justify all of his behavior, it is certainly a concern to us,” he said. “It is predatory. When somebody is this obsessed with a fantasy, it starts to rule their life. They start to move in a direction of losing the concept of reality. The reality is he’s a teacher. He’s in a power position. He should be worried about educating these children. Instead, his focus is more on constantly -- it seems, constantly obsessed with sexual aspects of these children.”

BILL MAHER: I want to talk to you about the schools because I read you took your kids out of the school in New York, and I have been hearing anecdotally the same very much the thing from many parents. Parents confide in me I guess because I don’t have kids, it usually starts with “you’re so lucky you don’t have kids.” Then I hear about their problems, just tells why you did this? MEGYN KELLY: We loved our schools. We were in the New York City private school system our boys went to an all-boys school and our daughter went to an all-girls school. Loved our teachers, loved the students, the faculty, and the parents. And they were definitely leftist we are more center right, but that is fine. My family is all Democrats it wasn’t that I was bothered by the fact that they leaned left but then they went hard left. Then they started to take a really hard turn toward social justice stuff. At our boys school in particular, when our son was in the third grade they unleashed a three week experimental trans-education program on these eight and nine year old boys. It wasn’t about support, we felt it was more about trying to convince them like “come on over.” And the boys started to get confused, and they had to implement this system were they raised they hand if they were really confused put up a one. MAHER: How old were they now? KELLY: They were eight and nine at the time and we objected and so did a lot of other parents to the point where the school had to apologized which they rarely did. Then our kindergartener was told to write a letter to the Cleveland Indians objecting to their mascot. Now he is six, can he learn how to spell Cleveland before we activate him. He lives in New York City, we got buses, we got subways, we got crime, he got things to worry about other than social activism. And if he was going be activated, Doug or I should do it, not a kindergarten teacher that didn’t run it by us. MAHER: This is what I have heard from parents, and these are all liberal by the way, that say “My kids are not ready to be told they’re white supremacists.” I’m not ready to be told that. KELLY: On this issue, we are not left or right, black or white, this is a question of reason and unreason. MAHER: You talked about this letter, that the school put out. “There’s a killer cop sitting at every school where white children learn. White children are left unchecked and unbothered in their homes…I’m tired of white people reveling in their state-sanctioned depravity and snuffing out black life with no consequences…Go reform white kids.” You know it bothers me so much that I have to be on this side of this issue because I have always been a civil rights advocated and don’t make me Tucker Carlson. You’re the f*cking nuts — this is insane. “As black bodies drop like flies around us by violent white hands … .” There is racist problems in this country, but this is hyperbole. And this is making people crazy. This is not the way we get to the Promised Land. KELLY: It’s divisive, it’s racist, and it’s having exactly the opposite effect of the one they intend. It is not all of the black people in our school or other schools are in favor of this kind of talk. My friend Coleman Hughes, who is 24, he is a liberal, a Biden voter, he has been speaking out about this as a black man saying “how dare you presume to know how I feel?” It’s pejorative to him like “the whites are the one who understand, who are arrogant and in control and work hard,” these are all the terms that are associated with white supremacy. The white people feel bad because they are told they are white supremacist because of a pigmentation over which they have no control. It wasn’t just our school in New York, there was no place to move them in New York. There was a public school in the upper east side of Manhattan that just got in the news because they gave out eight categories where all white people fall. On one end is a white supremacist, and on the other white abolitionist. Everybody gets divided into ‘oppressed’ or ‘oppressor’ on racial identity, on sexual identity. Cupertino, California did the same thing they took eight and nine years old and made them deconstruct their racial and sexual identity to see if they are oppressor or or the oppressed, eight-year-olds. I mean, this is really damaging, and as you get older, what the studies show is these sort of implicit biased education efforts bring out racism. So if somebody’s having racist thoughts in the back of their head, it brings it to the frontal lobe, and more people act on their latent racism than they otherwise would have.

These students discovered what their teacher had been going through a rough patch and surprised him with a gift that brought tears to his eyes. This teacher had been living and sleeping at the school premises in order to help cover the maternity leave for another teacher. The moment his kind-hearted students found out about his unfortunate situation, they collected $400 to honor his great sacrifice! Brazilian teacher Bruno Rafael Paiva has not received his salary in two months and was forced to sleep in the school. He was serving a double duty for one of his colleagues who was on maternity leave. Due to the bureaucracy, that teacher's name was not included in the payroll and Bruno was covering for her, teaching for free! So, his <a href="https://rumble.com/v39cad-asking-everyone-on-campus-for-25-cents-for-somalia.html" target="_blank">kind-hearted students</a> surprised their teacher with a beautiful gift he never saw coming. After they found out that their loving teacher had been sleeping in the school for some time, they came up with a great idea to lift up his spirits. What a moment! Footage shows the heartwarming moment when a teacher is reduced to tears after his students surprise him with an unexpected present! The Brazilian teacher, Bruno Rafael Paiva will remember and cherish this priceless moment for the rest of his life. How memorable! Surprises are always welcome and looked upon with excitement. We can all agree that surprises are something that all of us enjoy and wish for, but nowadays it is not that often that you see students surprising their favorite teacher out of the blue. They decided they wanted to make a very special surprise for him, so they did, and the outcome was truly amazing. He was completely unaware of their intention and was swept off his feet. When he finally realizes what his pupils are up to, he is in disbelief and cannot believe his eyes. When the sight finally hits him, he bursts into tears of joy! Faith in humanity restored! Kind-hearted students found out about their teacher’s need of a place to sleep and they all chipped in and got him a 'compensation blessing'. Joseph Wiener, the Principal of Wheatley School who has worked with Waters, shared his thoughts about her to a Veritas journalist. “She lives that activism and that purpose every minute of every day,” he said. Wiener also talked about his own methods for political activism in school. “We brought in speakers who taught kids how to be anti-racist, and you know, kind of define, ‘What does it mean to be an anti-racist?’ And parents would say, ‘You’re indoctrinating my child. We don’t believe--’ Wait, you don’t believe in being anti-racist?” The principal affirmed that there is no middle ground when it comes to the conversation around racism. “That speaker who we had, that anti-racist guest speaker said, ‘You’re either racist or you’re anti-racist,’” Wiener said. “There’s no in-between. If you’re not doing anti-racist work, then you are contributing to racial divide.”

To make a point, one parent held a poster of a drag performer from the school drag show while Kimberly Reicks dressed in the same outfit as the drag queen used during the sexual drag performance for the children at the Ankeny High School.
