Our exploration President #Trump's new Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s tumultuous and troubled family life continues in Episode 18. In the latest episode of this History Book Club series, "The Dark Side of RFK Jr." we discuss the suicide of Mary Richardson Kennedy, Bobby’s second of three wives. During the final months of her life, while going through a prolonged and ugly divorce, Bobby's second wife Mary Richardson Kennedy discovered a secret diary her husband kept documenting scores of affairs he had during their 16-year marriage. Mary gave the 398-page diary -- along with more evidence, including text messages, phone logs, and photos she had found in Bobby's phone -- to her divorce lawyer for safekeeping. She also gave rather curious instructions to her family members that if anything happened to her, she wanted them to leak the diary to the media so that the world would know the truth about RFK Jr. Mary was also in the process of writing an affidavit detailing her response to terrible allegations Bobby made against her in divorce court -- allegations she strongly denied. But before she could finish and file the document with the court, Mary took her own life on May 16, 2012. In these last two chapters we will explore the last days of Mary’s life, the legal battle between the Richardsons and the Kennedys over who would have control of her remains, and Bobby’s bizarre secret exhumation of Mary’s body from the Kennedy family burial plot. We will also dive into the Bobby’s relationship with Cheryl Hines — the married TV star of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” — and the secret affair that eventually led to their 2014 wedding. In more than a decade of marriage, RFK Jr. has allegedly cheated several times on Cheryl, too. What goes around comes around, right? In the latest episode of this History Book Club series, "The Dark Side of RFK Jr." we tell the tragic tale of his cousin #JFKJr's fatal 1999 plane crash. President Kennedy's only son died alongside his wife Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and sister-in-law Lauren Bessette when the small aircraft he was piloting took a nosedive into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Martha's Vineyard on July 16, 1999. In a sad note of irony, the crash happened not far from his late mother Jackie's Vineyard estate, and very near the bridge where his uncle Teddy's Chappaquiddick car wreck had occurred exactly 30 years earlier -- almost to the day. #RFKJr and #JFKJr were reportedly very close, and indeed, despite the chilly relations between the JFK and RFK families, they forged a friendship that endured. Bobby was the only RFK cousin John bequeathed money to in his last will and testament. Our exploration President #Trump's new Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s tumultuous and troubled family life continues in Episode 15. In the latest episode of this History Book Club series, "The Dark Side of RFK Jr." we will explore the #RFK family's connection to the savage murder of an innocent 15 year-old girl in 1975 -- a case that remains unsolved to this day. As you heard in Ep. 14 last week, Bobby's younger brother Michael was charged in 1997 for statutory rape when it was discovered that he had been carrying on a secret five-year affair with the family babysitter, who was an underage teenager at the time. When cousin Michael Skakel got involved -- in an attempt to help the teenage girl -- the powerful Kennedys vowed to destroy him. (And indeed, within a short time Skakel was arrested as a suspect in the murder of his former Greenwich neighbor, 15 year-old Martha Moxley, who had been killed more than two decades earlier.) Michael Skakel was convicted for Martha's murder in 2002 but only served 11 years of a life sentence because once again, Kennedy family power and money does a lot of talking in the so-called "justice' system. (As we discussed in Ep. 14 with the rape trial of Kennedy cousin William Kennedy Smith.) We will dive into how #RFKJr and the Kennedys covered up the truth about Martha Moxley's murder; circling their wagons of high-priced lawyers, media operatives, and publicists to influence the court of public opinion, successfully getting Skakel's conviction overturned and securing his release from prison. RFK Jr. says his cousin is innocent of the crime, and did not kill Martha Moxley. If that is true, then, who did? In this episode, I'll present the evidence, and the suspects, and let you decide. In the latest episode of this History Book Club series, "The Dark Side of RFK Jr." we will go back to the 1990s -- a decade in which the Kennedy family scandals and tragedies kept coming, one after another, after another. Two of Bobby's brothers -- Joe and Michael -- destroyed their marriages with infidelity. Then-Congressman Joseph Kennedy divorced his wife Sheila to marry his secretary/mistress Beth Kelly, and later used his influence within the Catholic church to have his first marriage annulled. (His first wife fought for years to have the annulment overturned, and eventually won.) Meanwhile, Bobby's youngest brother Michael had been carrying on a secret five-year affair with the family babysitter, who was an underage teenager at the time. When cousin Michael Skakel got involved -- in an attempt to help the teenage girl -- the powerful Kennedys vowed to destroy him. The family feud grew more intense as #JFK's son #JFKJr chimed in, opining in a 1997 George Magazine editorial that his #RFK cousins were "poster boys for bad behavior." The story soon took another tragic turn on New Year's 1997, when Michael Kennedy died a violent death -- skiing headfirst into a tree on the slopes of Aspen in front of his entire family, who witnessed the horror. But the biggest Kennedy scandal of the decade was the rape trial of Bobby's cousin William Kennedy Smith in 1991. On Thursday morning the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as Trump's Secretary of Health and Human Services was confirmed by the full Senate. Secretary Kennedy was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch at the White House with President #Trump and members of Mr. Kennedy's family in attendance. #Democrats vocally opposed #RFKJR's appointment in a 30 hour marathon debate on the Senate floor prior to Thursday's vote. Their arguments centered mainly on Kennedy's history of anti-vaccine activism, his fluctuating stance on abortion, his conflicts of interest and lack of proper qualifications. Yet, his serious character flaws and bizarre behavior that could be considered disqualifying factors at any other time in history were barely even mentioned. When #RFK declared his run for the presidency in April 2023, he said in his speech: "I've got so many skeletons in my closet that if they could all vote, I would be king of the world." Kennedy could be confirmed by the Senate as early as Wednesday. In the latest episode of this History Book Club series, "The Dark Side of RFK Jr." we will discuss Bobby Kennedy Jr.'s journey from heroin addict to environmentalist. After his 1983 heroin bust and near-fatal overdose, a judge ordered Bobby to perform 1500 hours of community service in lieu of a two-year prison sentence. (Being a Kennedy has its advantages.) His service was at the Hudson River Fisherman's Association, which would later become known as #Riverkeeper. He quickly rose in the organization and essentially took it over, ruling the proverbial roost with an iron fist -- and, according to many of his colleagues, used Riverkeeper as his own personal piggy bank while ruthlessly flaunting fish and wildlife laws and launching lawsuits that were often based on questionable science. The Senate Finance Committee voted Tuesday along party lines, 14-13, to advance #RFKJr’s cabinet nomination to the full Senate. After 30 hours of debate, Senators will vote by simple majority on whether to confirm him as President Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services. That vote could happen late this week or early next week. #RFKJR faced confirmation hearings before two Senate committees this week -- the Finance Committee on Wednesday, January 29th, and the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee on Thursday, January 30th. Now that public testimony has concluded, Senators will soon vote on whether to confirm him as President Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services. During the televised hearings, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s own family members voiced their concerns (and, at times, outrage) about Bobby’s alleged serious character defects that should be disqualifying for such an important cabinet-level position. #RFK Jr.’s cousin Caroline Kennedy, and JFK’s grandson Jack Schlossberg both came forward with some damning stories about Bobby’s past behavior, and even his second wife Mary Richardson Kennedy’s voice was finally heard from beyond the grave. (Mother Jones unearthed bombshell secret recordings and documents this week from the couple’s divorce proceedings that tell Mary’s side of the story, just two months before her 2012 suicide.) Kennedy, Jr., is visiting the nation's capitol this week for private meetings with 28 key Senators -- all of them Republicans -- who will decide his fate in next month's cabinet confirmation hearings. Kennedy took no questions from reporters, who mobbed him in the hallway, preferring to reserve his answers for U.S. Senators behind closed doors. One Senator who met privately with RFK, Oklahoma Republican Markwayne Mullin said on Monday that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told him he supports polio vaccination -- despite some recent media reports that Kennedy might do away with the polio vaccine. "He said, 'I 100% support polio vaccination,'" Mullin told reporters after meeting with Kennedy, who has for years sown doubt over the safety and efficacy of vaccines, including asserting a debunked link between vaccines and autism. According to Sen. Mullin, Kennedy said the polio vaccine is different because it was one of the first vaccines to be developed. He quoted Kennedy as suggesting that children receive too many shots and saying, the question is "why are we giving our kids 72 shots now?” Trump has said he could end some childhood vaccinations if he thinks they are dangerous. 56 years ago this month, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy was gunned down in a kitchen pantry of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. My ongoing investigative series on the RFK assassination continues on Episode 38 of "Strange Bedfellows" with tonight's guest, historian Mel Ayton (author of "Sirhan Sirhan: The Forgotten Terrorist") -- who will tell us what motivated Kennedy's killer. Researchers have spent the past 56 years bogged down in ballistics and bullet trajectories, all the while overlooking the most important aspect of the crime: motive. We are all guilty of focusing too much on the HOW, and not enough on the WHY. So, why did he do it? Sirhan told us why. Many times. Minutes after shooting Sen. Kennedy, Sirhan told arresting officers: "I can explain! I did it for my country! I love my country." After being convicted of Kennedy's murder, Sirhan told his jailer: “It’s not very many people my age who is considered a martyr by his people. Just think, I’ll go down in history as a martyr and will always be remembered, at least by my countrymen.” He told us, over and over again, why he killed Kennedy. He did it for his country; for Palestine. Sirhan envisioned himself as a revolutionary, committing a revolutionary act. And it's true that he did put the Palestinian liberation movement on the front pages of newspapers for the very first time. Assassinating RFK brought attention to the plight of Palestinians -- and that's exactly what Sirhan intended to do. In addition, Sirhan's anti-Zionism was the primary motivating emotion that drove him to target high-profile political leaders for assassination. More than a year before he shot RFK, Sirhan was already naming the pro-Israel politicians he wanted to kill in his notebook, starting at the top: President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Clearly, Sirhan had no remorse for what he did. He was quite proud of himself. While behind bars, Sirhan constantly asked for newspapers from the Arab world, eager to read what was being written about his "heroic act" by those who -- unlike Americans -- fully understood his motives. Indeed, Sirhan was hailed a hero in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, and back home in Palestine. Even the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Al-Husseini instructed his fellow Arabs to give Sirhan all possible aid after his arrest. The Grand Mufti's call was answered by Arab lawyers who came to assist Sirhan, and Arab Americans who held fundraisers for his legal defense fund and provided financial support for the Sirhan family. In 1968, Sirhan's motives were lost on most Americans, who rationalized the assassination of Robert Kennedy as the senseless act of a madman. We, as a nation, did not yet understand the complexities or history of the Middle East conflict. This was before the era of Palestinian skyjackings, hostage-takings, the Munich Olympics massacre, terrorist attacks, and 9/11. In 2003, The Los Angeles Times wrote that Sirhan "fired the first shot in the War on Terror." Indeed, he did. Sirhan's name will be recorded in the history books as the first Palestinian terrorist to strike at the heart of America, on American soil. 24 Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. #Kennedy Jr. has been strangely silent the past few weeks about the #antisemitic, pro-#Hamas protests happening on college campuses. Although #RFKJr has been asked about it in recent interviews, and answers briefly in a lawyerly manner about the difference between demonstrations on public vs. private property, he has otherwise completely avoided talking about the issue. While every other candidate in the presidential race issued statements on this national crisis immediately, Kennedy waited nearly three weeks before speaking up. Kennedy finally posted a tweet about the campus unrest Saturday outlining what he would do as president to ensure fairness to all students on campus, but said nothing about what he would do to stop the lawlessness and violence we are witnessing on campuses across America. https://twitter.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1786943517710786626 Kennedy has proclaimed himself to be strongly pro-Israel, and supports #Israel's war against Hamas. At the same time, he says he is "very pro-Palestinian," and supports the two-state solution that would establish #Palestine as an independent sovereign nation. Is Kennedy doing the same "both sides" dance as President #Biden, afraid of losing progressive Democrats and Gen Z voters? Are his campaign advisers telling Bobby to tone down his pro-Israel rhetoric in order to appease the woke mob? At a time when #antisemitism escalating to frightening levels, #Jews are being assaulted in the streets, and some protesters are issuing calls to "kill all the Zionists," it feels like open season on Jews. The exclusion of Jewish "#Zionists" from campuses, establishment of "Zionist-free zones," Jewish students not being allowed to attend class, acts of harassment, intimidation and violence, hate speech and symbols of Jew hatred on campus property are all flagrant violations of the 1964 Civil Rights Act -- which is not being enforced by campus administrators, state governments, or the federal government. The trial of Sirhan Sirhan for the murder of Robert F. #Kennedy concluded 55 years ago this week after four months of courtroom drama. The jury found Sirhan guilty of first degree murder for the assassination of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and attempted murder of five other innocent bystanders wounded by his barrage of bullets at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. The seven men and five women, who deliberated 16 hours and 42 minutes before reaching their verdict, found the young Palestinian was mentally capable of mature premeditation before shooting down the senator on June 5, 1968. As the verdict was announced Sirhan, who had been nervously chewing at his fingers, stared straight ahead and showed no emotion. After a one-day recess, the same jurors heard arguments as to whether Sirhan's fate should be life in prison or a sentence to the gas chamber at San Quentin. The penalty phase lasted only a few days in contrast to the 15-week trial. The prosecution did not seek the death penalty but told the jurors either sentence would be just. The jury's ultimate unanimous verdict was death in the gas chamber for Sirhan. (The sentence was commuted to life in prison a few years later when California abolished the death penalty.) As part of my ongoing investigative series "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy?" marking the 55th anniversary of Sirhan's trial, I recently spoke to #JFK/#RFK assassination historian James DiEugenio about the evidence in the case, which Jim believes points to a #conspiracy. The #Democrats have launched a coordinated attack campaign against Independent presidential candidate Robert F. #Kennedy, Jr. -- accusing him of (among other things) throwing the election to former President Donald Trump. "RFK Jr. is a spoiler for Donald Trump," said Matt Corridoni, a DNC spokesperson. He added that Kennedy is "now providing Trump cover by parroting #MAGA talking points downplaying January 6th." Meanwhile, the #Republicans are attacking Kennedy as a "far-left radical" as Trump himself said in a recent campaign video, but the former president also said in the video that he is "glad RFK Jr. is running" because he will take votes from President #Biden. Mr. Kennedy responded in a post on X today: https://twitter.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1779899736176091407 It is true that many of #RFKJr's biggest financial backers are also top Trump donors, and there is without doubt a lot of cross-pollination within the two camps. Team Kennedy counts a lot of former Trump voters, volunteers, and supporters within the campaign's diverse political ranks. There is certainly a meeting of the minds and agreement on many key issues. But is this happening organically, or is it strategic? Are Team Trump operatives infiltrating the Kennedy campaign? We have to wonder. A campaign staffer working for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s independent presidential bid recently raised the prospect of blocking President Joe #Biden from being re-elected by sending the election to the House of Representatives, where House members could elect former President Donald Trump, instead. Rita Palma, alongtime New York-basedcriticof vaccination mandates, appears in a recently uploaded video to be giving a presentation aimed at persuading #Republican voters to help Kennedy qualify for the state’s presidential ballot this fall. She identifies herself in the video as the campaign’s New York state director, though the campaign said Monday that she is a "ballot access consultant" and that her comments don't reflect overall campaign strategy. In those comments, Palma says that she knocked on doors for Trump's campaigns in 2016 and 2020 and has "more Trump T-shirts than I do Bobby Kennedy T-shirts" but that Trump "lost" her because of "the vaccines." Palma goes on to declare Biden the "mutual enemy" of the Trump and Kennedy voter and says her "No. 1 priority" is depriving Biden of his re-election, not helping Kennedy win. "Whether you support Bobby or Trump, we all oppose Biden.And my thoughts are that, you know, that’s the No. 1 priority in the country," she says in the video. And she outlines a specific way to do just that. While national Democrats focus on cutting Kennedy down in key swing states that typically decide elections, Palma pitches the prospect of depriving Biden of wins in blue states like New York. That, according to Palma, could keep both Trump and Biden short of the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the presidential election, leaving the choice to the currently GOP-controlled House, which she says would choose Trump. In a statement,Kennedy campaign manager Amaryllis Foxdescribed Palma as a "ballot access consultant responsible for scheduling volunteer shifts for our upcoming signature collection drive in the Empire State" and said it should be no surprise that different Kennedy backers come from different ends of the ideological spectrum. “As an independent movement, our supporters, volunteers, and field organizers come from all sides of the political spectrum and their reasons for supporting Mr. Kennedy are as disparate as their backgrounds,” the campaign statement said. “She is not involved in electoral strategy, nationally or in New York. This was not a campaign event. Palma was speaking as a private citizen and her statements in no way reflect the strategy of the Kennedy campaign, which is to win the White House with votes from former Trump and Biden supporters alike," the #Kennedy24 campaign statement continued. Since #RFK announced his run for the White House a year ago this month (he was then running in the Democratic Party; Kennedy switched to Independent last October), there have been several discreet approaches from the Trump camp -- particularly Roger Stone -- asking Mr. Kennedy if he was interested in the VP running mate slot on Trump's GOP ticket. The answer from Kennedy was always "thank you, but no thanks." "There is no question that in a close presidential race," #Trump strategist Roger Stone told the New York Times Wednesday, "independent or minor party candidates can have a disproportionately large impact." In this highlight from Episode 27 of "Strange Bedfellows" we spoke to Roger Stone's longtime friend and personal attorney Tyler Nixon (who is also an RFK supporter) about why he wants to see a unity ticket of Trump and Kennedy this year. Nixon says such a pairing is the only way we can not only heal the divide but actually drain the swamp. While such a unity ticket seems unlikely, that does not rule out the possibility of Mr. Kennedy serving the Trump administration in a cabinet position or Ambassadorship, perhaps. (I'll just say right now that the son of Robert Kennedy running the Department of Justice would be like hiring Roto-Rooter to drain that swamp, Mr. Trump!) We also discussed the recent attacks on Kennedy from the #DNC, President Biden, and their affiliated media mouthpieces. Tyler Nixon grew up with the Biden family in Delaware, was close to the president's late son Beau Biden, and knows where the bones are buried, as the saying goes. As part of our ongoing investigative series marking the 55th anniversary of Sirhan Sirhan's 1969 trial for the murder of Senator Robert F. #Kennedy, I've recently conducted a re-review of all available materials and evidence in the case. In Part 1 of the "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy" series, I presented original documents, trial testimony, Sirhan's own words in press interviews and in court for the prosecution, and arguments from conspiracy researcher Lisa Pease (author of the book "A Lie Too Big To Fail") for the defense, as well as #RFKJr, who also advocates for Sirhan's parole. In Part 2 I explained why Sirhan is considered a hero in #Palestine to this day for killing #RFK over the Senator's support for #Israel. As Sirhan himself told reporters: "If I had been tried in an Arab country, no Arab court ever would have convicted me." Sirhan's act of political violence inspired many later acts of #terrorism, aircraft hijackings, bombings, kidnappings, hostage-taking, and murders. His release from prison was demanded on numerous occasions by Palestinian terrorists over the past 50 years. Kennedy Jr. will announce his running mate in Oakland, California on March 26, his campaign said Wednesday. #RFKJr’s alleged short list of possible running mates was published in the New York Times this week. The short list of about 10 names reportedly included controversial #NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, “Dirty Jobs” producer Mike Rowe, Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown and former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura. There’s only one problem with the short list published by the Times: Mr. Kennedy’s actual pick wasn’t on it! The controversy turned out to be completely #FakeNews. 55 years ago this month, the trial of Sirhan Sirhan got underway for the murder of 1968 Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. #Kennedy. The trial lasted three months. Eventually the jury found him guilty of first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to commit murder (five counts; one for each of the other people Sirhan shot). The official motive for Sirhan’s murder of #RFK was “anti-#Zionism.” After he was captured by Kennedy’s bodyguards, witnesses in the Ambassador Hotel kitchen heard Sirhan say: “I can explain. I did it for my country. I love my country." On Episode 20 of the "Kennedy Americans" podcast, we took a deep dive into the evidence for both the prosecution and the defense. Was Sirhan a mind-controlled patsy, or a Palestinian terrorist? Whether Sirhan fired the fatal shots that killed #RFK or not -- a topic that is still debated among historians of the case today -- there is no doubt that Sirhan is heralded as a hero in the Palestinian Liberation Movement for assassinating Senator Kennedy (an act Sirhan claims he has no memory of). Shortly after the RFK assassination, Al #Fatah, the Arab Commando organization, distributed thousands of posters with pictures of Sirhan over the words, “I did it for my country!" In September 1970 the Popular Front for the Liberation of #Palestine (PFLP) hijacked three passenger planes and demanded the release of Sirhan Sirhan from prison. After releasing the hostages, the Palestinian hijackers blew up one of the planes on a Cairo runway "in retaliation for the United States' support of #Israel." Three Arabs hijacked a West German jumbo jet in February 1972 on which RFK's eldest son Joseph P. Kennedy (then 19 years old) was a passenger. The plane, on a flight from New Delhi to Athens, landed safely eight hours later at Aden, Southern #Yemen. That specific flight was targeted because the terrorists knew Kennedy would be on board. In 1973, when the Black September group burst into the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Khartoum and took 10 hostages, their demands included the release of Sirhan Sirhan from prison. Sirhan told David Frost in a 1989 interview: "I wanted to show that the Palestinian problem didn't just erupt with the assassination of #Kennedy," a reference to the displacement of Palestinians after the Arab-Israeli war of 1948. "If I had shot Bobby Kennedy in an Arab country, I doubt any Arab court would have convicted me," he said with a smile. By killing RFK Sirhan advanced the cause of the Palestinians, a cause which promoted the return of Arab land from the state of Israel. He told Robert Kaiser in 1969, "They (the Palestinians) want action. They want results. Hey! I produced action for them. I'm a big hero over there." Sirhan Sirhan is now 79. If he is ever released on parole he will most likely be deported immediately back to Palestine or Jordan because he is not a U.S. citizen. Will he receive a hero's welcome in the Arab world? We can only wonder. In this highlight from Episode 24 of "Strange Bedfellows" I discuss with guest Caleb Maupin growing concerns over #RFKJr's safety as he now finds himself treading the same dangerous waters that inflamed his father's convicted killer: campaigning for president on an antiwar platform while staunchly supporting Israel's war against #Hamas, attracting death threats from mentally ill stalkers and political fanatics while left unprotected by the U.S. Secret Service. Crime. Addiction. Despair. Fear. Illness. Wars abroad, and escalating political violence at home. Americans are ailing, our country is sick. When he was arrested after the #RFK assassination, one of #Sirhan Sirhan’s appellate lawyers says there was a newspaper clipping in Sirhan’s pocket that discussed the incongruity of Sen. Robert Kennedy’s advocacy for the oppressed while also supporting #Israel over #Palestine. Sirhan’s friend and appellate attorney says he cannot be certain there was not some sort of conspiracy, but has little doubt Sirhan shot Kennedy. “Sirhan never said there was somebody else,” Abdeen Jabara insists. The official motive for Sirhan’s murder of #RFK was “anti-#Zionism.” After he was captured by Kennedy’s bodyguards, witnesses in the Ambassador Hotel kitchen heard Sirhan say: “I can explain. I did it for my country. I love my country." On Episode 20 of the "Kennedy Americans" podcast, we take a deep dive into the debate over RFK's convicted killer Sirhan's innocence or guilt. Was he a mind-controlled patsy, or a Palestinian terrorist? Whether Sirhan's motives were political or not, he has been heralded as a hero in the Palestinian Liberation Movement for assassinating Robert F. Kennedy (an act Sirhan claims he has no memory of). Shortly after the RFK assassination, Al Fatah, the Arab Commando organization, distributed thousands of posters with pictures of Sirhan over the words, “I did it for my country! “ In 1973, when the Black September group burst into the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Khartoum and took 10 hostages, their demands included the release of Sirhan Sirhan from prison. Sirhan told David Frost in a 1989 interview: "I wanted to show that the Palestinian problem didn't just erupt with the assassination of #Kennedy," a reference to the displacement of Palestinians after the Arab-Israeli war of 1948. "If I had shot Bobby Kennedy in an Arab country, I doubt any Arab court would have convicted me," he said with a smile. By killing RFK Sirhan advanced the cause of the Palestinians, a cause which promoted the return of Arab land from the state of Israel. He told Robert Kaiser in 1969, "They (the Palestinians) want action. They want results. Hey! I produced action for them. I'm a big hero over there." Sirhan’s guilty plea, conviction, and strong anti-Israel motives do not necessarily exclude the possibility of other gunmen present who may have delivered the fatal shots to Kennedy, as some historians suggest. However, the fact remains that Sirhan did fire and hit 5 other people that night -- even if his shots did not strike Kennedy. In this episode we will explore the theories of mind control and blanks fired from Sirhan's gun advanced by case researcher Lisa Pease. We'll discuss my late friend Paul Schrade's efforts to get the case re-opened, and how he finally convinced #RFKJr that Sirhan could not have acted alone. We will also dive into the dispute between the RFK family members over parole for Sirhan, which was denied for the 17th time in 2023. Sirhan Sirhan is now 79. If he is ever released on parole he will most likely be deported immediately back to Palestine or Jordan because he is not a U.S. citizen. Will he receive a hero's welcome in the Arab world? We can only wonder. Former Ohio Congressman and two-time presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has served as #RFKJr's campaign manager since the start, and is now handing over the reins to #Kennedy's daughter-in-law, Amaryllis Fox-Kennedy, effective immediately. Kucinich's announcement that he was leaving #Kennedy24 came as a surprise even to some campaign staffers, just a few days after Kucinich was onstage with Kennedy at a campaign rally in Philadelphia to declare #RFK's independence from the Democratic Party. It appears that Kennedy and Kucinich parted on good terms (they've been friends for 30 years). In a statement, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. saidof the change: “The campaign benefited enormously from the political experience of Dennis Kucinich. Dennis Kucinich has been a moral center in American politics for more than five decades. This campaign would never have experienced tremendous success during the past six months except for the leadership, wisdom, and experience he brought. We will continue to profit from his advice and judgment as we go forward.” The campaign news release does not quote #Kucinich or otherwise explain his departure. In a phone call, Kucinich confirmed to Cleveland.com he is no longer with the campaign but declined to elaborate. “I’m not doing interviews on that,” he said. On this week's episode of "Strange Bedfellows" Rick and I discussed the possible reasons for Dennis' sudden departure from the campaign, and how the announcement has been received by Bobby's core base of supporters. We also ponder why a former CIA officer is now running the campaign. After an unhinged armed man showed up at one of the presidential candidate's speeches in Los Angeles last week, Robert F. #Kennedy, Jr. is now renewing his request to the #Biden administration for Secret Service protection -- IMMEDIATELY. #RFKJr's previous request for a Secret Service detail back in May was denied. Kennedy Campaign Manager Dennis Kucinich sent a letter to President Biden urging him to provide Democratic Presidential CandidateRobert F. Kennedy, Jr.Secret Service protection on September 18, three days after the troubling incident in L.A. Here’s Kucinich’s letter: Dear President Biden, This past Friday in Los Angeles, at a Hispanic Heritage event, a gunman posing as a U.S. Marshall sought to gain entrance to the venue where Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was about to speak. The man was carrying a fully loaded weapon and was accompanied by a second individual who carried additional weapons and ammunition. He was intercepted by a private security detail before he could harm anyone, and arrested by the LAPD. The threat level to our candidate, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is increasing every day. He is not the only one in danger — every person who attends a campaign event is at risk. A specter of violence haunts our political process. Indeed, political assassinations pose a grave threat to democracy. It is not hard to imagine the civil chaos and political disintegration that could ensue with the return of the kind of assassinations of public officials and presidential candidates that marred the 1960s. This ever-present threat of violence is something you are well aware of given the security requirements for you and members of your family. It is astonishing that under such circumstances, you would deny Secret Service coverage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has polled more than 20% in the first five primary states, and whose net favorability rating exceeds both yours and Donald Trump's. Although it is a well-known historical fact, apparently in your case it bears repeating: Mr. Kennedy's uncle, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated. Mr. Kennedy's father, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated while a presidential candidate. The American psyche still bears the scars of those devastating events. Together with the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., they sent America into a tailspin from which many believe the country has not yet recovered. omething pretty significant happened at Robert F. #Kennedy, Jr.'s Hispanic Heritage Month event in Los Angeles last Friday, but it's not what you heard about in the media. Naturally, all eyes were focused on the bizarre incident prior to his speech -- a heavily-armed man claiming to be a security guard (44 year-old Adrian Paul Aispuro) was arrested for carrying several weapons on him, including three guns and several knives. Yet, the thing the media and most importantly, the voters, ought to be paying attention to is not what occurred before the speech, but what Kennedy said in his speech that night. Towards the end of his hourlong address, #RFKJr went off script and just started speaking from the heart -- perhaps a release of his own pent-up feelings after surviving a potential assassination attempt shortly before taking the stage. I've heard Bobby Kennedy give hundreds of speeches over the last 20 years (and there have been many great ones) but these extemporaneous remarks in Los Angeles last week were so powerful, I want to amplify these words to ensure they are not overlooked or forgotten. On Episode 13 of "Strange Bedfellows" we explored the possibility that Adrian Paul Aispuro, the heavily-armed man arrested at an #RFKJr event in Los Angeles September 15, could have been brainwashed. Our panel is Jim DiEugenio, #Kennedy historian and author/screenwriter for Oliver Stone's new documentary "#JFK Revisited," and Lisa Pease, author of "A Lie Too Big to Fail" about the 1968 assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, Sr. at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Both of our panelists are well-versed in the history of the CIA's MK-ULTRA and other mind control programs. Pease has done extensive research into hypnotic suggestion and programming of the mind. She concludes in her book that #RFK's convicted killer Sirhan Sirhan was a victim of MK-ULTRA brainwashing. Mr. Aispuro showed up to RFK's event wearing a U.S. Marshal's badge, carrying two loaded holstered guns, another gun in a backpack, extra ammo, and several knives. He tried to approach Mr. Kennedy by claiming he was a member of Kennedy's private security team. In Aispuro's public comments, he revealed himself to be a #QAnon believer. The alleged assailant has been identified as Adrian Paul Aispuro, 44. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon (a felony in L.A.) and booked on $35,000 bail. Aispuro’s brother, Raymond, was also briefly detained by LAPD, then released. Although Aispuro was wearing a federal U.S. marshal's identification badge, he has not yet been charged with any federal crimes. A gunman posing as a federal agent was arrested Friday at the Wilshire Theatre in Los Angeles before #RFKJr arrived to give a planned speech. The unidentified man told arresting officers that he had been hired by the venue as private security for the event. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s department and the #Kennedy24 campaign confirmed the arrest and that the man had a gun and ammunition on him. No other information is being released about his identity or motives at this time, as the investigation is ongoing. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. posted the following statement on social media, along with a close-up photo of the alleged gunman's face. "I’m very grateful that alert and fast-acting protectors from Gavin de Becker and Associates (GDBA) spotted and detained an armed man who attempted to approach me at my Hispanic Heritage speech at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles tonight," #Kennedy wrote. "The man, wearing two shoulder holsters with loaded pistols and spare ammunition magazines was carrying a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and beltclip federal ID. He identified himself as a member of my security detail. Armed GDBA team members moved quickly to isolate and detain the man until LAPD arrived to make the arrest. I’m also grateful to LAPD for its rapid response. I’m still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection. I am the first presidential candidate in history to whom the White House has denied a request for protection. Mr. Kennedy’s speech went on as planned Friday night after the armed man was taken away. The alleged gunman was arrested before Kennedy arrived at the venue. Ironically the Wilshire Theatre is not far from the former location of the Ambassador Hotel, where #RFK was fatally shot in 1968. The Los Angeles Police Department told local affiliate NBC4 that the man in question did not point the weapon at anyone but was arrested on a gun charge and for impersonating a U.S. marshal. The incident happened around 4:30 p.m., the LAPD said. The LAPD said it, not the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will handle the case. Remarkably the local ABC news affiliate did not find a potential assassination attempt on a presidential candidate named Kennedy in Los Angeles newsworthy. They devoted an entirety of 15 seconds to the story on the nightly news. We at Maverick News DO find this story to be very important, and will give it the coverage it deserves (unlike the national mainstream media, which is not covering it at all). 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. deviated from much of the Democratic Party during a New Hampshire town hall, saying there is nothing policymakers can “meaningfully” do through #guncontrol to reduce the #gunviolence epidemic in America. #Kennedy, who is rivalingPresident Bidenfor the 2024 Democratic nomination, was asked by an audience member how he would use federal resources to slow gun violence. “I do not believe that there is, within that #secondamendment, that there’s anything we can meaningfully do to reduce the trade in the ownership of #guns,” #RFKJr said, “and I’m not going to take people’s guns away.” “Anybody who tells you that they’re going to be able to reduce gun violence through gun control at this point I don’t think is being realistic,” Kennedy added. His emphasis on refusing to infringe on Americans’ constitutional rights echoes a common Republican position on the limitations of responding to gun violence through gun control. Still, #RFK's answer on gun rights failed to entirely satisfy many on the pro-#2A side, and he suffered the inevitable backlash on social media from those who pointed out his previous stated position as pro-gun control. Since we already had reporters dispatched to New Hampshire this week for Tuesday's #RFKJr speech in Manchester (watch our live team coverage of that event here), Maverick News decided to send our Freedom Reporters team of Don DeBar and Quintan Center trekking up into the woods to see what was going on in this #libertarian utopia where #Kennedy, Tulsi Gabbard, Dennis Kucinich, Vivek Ramaswamy, Scott Horton, Matt Kibbe, and many more were scheduled to speak. Once our crew arrived at the festival and set up the livestream, we all realized after a few minutes of the broadcast that things had gone terribly, terribly, wrong. The internet and cell phone service in the woods was spotty to non-existent. The stream kept freezing, the audio was garbled and unintelligible. We had to cut away before Mr. Kennedy was finished speaking, much to the confusion and disappointment of Kennedy's fans watching live. They mistakenly thought at first we were censoring Kennedy's speech -- perhaps a reasonable concern given how often mainstream media does actually censor him. But that certainly wasn't the case here, as you will see. We tried our best to re-establish the connection to our reporters on the ground without success, leaving us to improvise live on the air to fill the scheduled time. Hilarity ensued as this shambolic broadcast went to hell in a handbasket quickly! Because the livestream quality was so unwatchable, we took the videos down from our channel archives, smashed them into a thousand pieces and scattered them to the four winds. Lori returned to the Misty Winston Show on TNT Radio this week to discuss how YouTube is censoring not only #RFKJr, but the journalists who cover his campaign, #Kennedy's friends and supporters -- most likely on orders from the #Biden White House. #Biden is trying to put one of his future 2024 opponents in prison -- Donald #Trump is now under indictment -- and now it appears President Biden is silencing his Democratic primary challenger, Robert F. #Kennedy, Jr., through Big Tech companies like #Google, #Meta, #Facebook, #Instagram, and #YouTube, who are colluding to make RFK Jr. invisible on their platforms. Lori's former @LoriSpencer YouTube channel was permanently BANNED from the platform on May 23, after being demonetized and punished with two strikes for merely publishing coverage of Kennedy's presidential campaign. In recent weeks YouTube has removed other popular videos about #RFKJr and imposed harsh punishments upon the channels of those who interviewed Kennedy: Mike Tyson, Theo Von, Kim Iversen, Dark Journalist, Indie News Network, Luke Rudowski, and Dr. Jordan Peterson also felt the sting of the YouTube censorship involving Kennedy. Even our host Misty Winston has had multiple strikes on her YouTube channel for questioning "election integrity." A previous interview Misty and Lori did last month also resulted in Lori's YouTube channel receiving a second strike. The video was removed and Lori's channel was permanently demonetized. Tonight, Lori and Misty talk about the chilling effect this censorship is having on YouTube creators and journalists. Now, many podcasters who would like to interview Mr. Kennedy are afraid to have him on their shows for fear of losing their YouTube channels -- often their primary source of income. You knew this was coming. Within days of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s declaration of his 2024 presidential candidacy, YouTube brought the ban hammer down upon the heads of independent media outlets, journalists, and content creators who support #RFKJr's campaign. I got smacked down first. On April 25th, YouTube removed all episodes of a new weekly podcast posted to my Youtube channel for Kennedy's supporters and hit my channel with a strike, citing "medical misinformation." I am not allowed to post, upload, or go live on YouTube during the strike period. (The podcast, "RFK: All The Way" is now available exclusively on Rumble!) The very next day, YouTube assessed strikes against the channels of The Kim Iversen Show and Dark Journalist for previous interviews they had done with Mr. Kennedy, and removed those interviews from the platform. Then came a series of strikes against the channels of the Indie News Network and Comrade Misty's TNT Radio show for an interview about RFK Jr. she conducted with Jimmy Dore. Those episodes were also removed. Also, one of the news outlets I work for, Maverick News, was completely demonetized by YouTube and our main channel was hit by a strike Saturday, forbidding us from broadcasting on the platform entirely. What do all of these content creators have in common? We all openly support Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. That is our crime, and we cheerfully plead guilty. AOC said this week that "deplatforming works." We argue that it doesn't -- and here's why: when creators stand together in solidarity against censorship, it becomes impossible to censor our voices. When YouTube turns off one creator's microphone, another creator opens their mic to those who have been censored. When YouTube shut down my channel this week, the Welsh Republic podcast very kindly offered me the opportunity to speak on his YouTube channel and speak out about what's happening to content creators who break away from approved groupthink. When it comes to #censorship, an attack on one is an attack on all. When #ElonMusk bought #Twitter last fall, he pledged to "drain the swamp" of bad actors inside the company who were working hand-in-glove with the #Biden administration to censor the opposition. It looks like Musk still hasn't flushed them all out yet. Tonight I present clear and convincing evidence proving that Twitter is rigging political polls. Recently, I ran a poll asking Twitter users, "who gets your vote in 2024?" The choices were: President Joe Biden, former President Donald #Trump, Robert F. #Kennedy, Jr., and "Undecided/Other." The poll was stuck at 918 votes -- even though the poll was still open for five more days. Numerous Twitter users sent me screenshots showing that they voted, but their votes were not being counted. The poll just simply stopped counting votes, but did it in such a way that most voters would never be the wiser. They thought they voted! This video shows you the diabolical way in which Twitter rigged my poll, and others by political groups such as the Iraq Body Count who challenge the establishment. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. -- who is currently exploring a possible 2024 run for President -- was demonized as Public Enemy #2 for the past three years, in close competition with Alex Jones (Public Enemy #1) for his skepticism about the safety and efficacy of the #Covid #Vaccines. Kennedy was listed on a White House list of the "#Disinformation Dozen," accused of "spreading medical #misinformation," banned from every social media platform, blacklisted from the mainstream media, and widely slandered merely for questioning the official government narrative. Despite all that, his book "The Real Anthony #Fauci" was a runaway bestseller. But now that all the evidence is in, we find that #RFKJr wasn't wrong about Covid vaccines being unsafe for some people. In fact, he was quite right. Kennedy (also an attorney) is taking his case to the courts, seeking legal vindication, restoration of his damaged reputation and his still-banned social media accounts. Acomplaintfiled in Texas alleges that the Trusted News Initiative, a group of media outlets led by the #BBC that works with companies like #Meta, #Google and #Twitter tocombat vaccine misinformation onlineare violatingantitrust lawsagainst anti-competitive behavior. Other TNI membersThe Washington Post, Reuters and the Associated Press were named as co-defendants. Plaintiffs including Kennedy and Children’s Health Defense, a vaccine safety activist group, allege their content has been "censored, demonetized, demoted, throttled, shadow-banned (and) excluded entirely” from social media platforms like #Facebook, #YouTube, #Twitter and #Instagram. Kennedy and the plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial, an order for the TNI to suspend any activities “with Internet companies toboycott and censorother online news publishers,” and unspecified damages. The TNI partners work to “alert each other todisinformation” so platforms can review any suspicious content quickly while publishers make sure they “don’t unwittingly republish dangerous falsehoods,” according to the BBC, which had no comment. On this edition of Maverick News, we discuss Kennedy's vindication on vaccines. We also examine actual case studies of governments and corporations in the U.K. and #Canada compensating victims for the injuries and deaths caused by #Covidvaccines. The government, big tech, and the media owe RFK Jr. a big fat apology, in our humble opinions. Not only Kennedy, but #AlexJones, and every other critic of the Covid vaccines who were censored merely for asking questions, or presenting "unapproved" information that was eventually proven true. And one final point: in light of the surveillance videos obtained by #Tucker Carlson last week showing what really happened on #January6, we call for the release of the #QShaman and all nonviolent prisoners still being held on charges related to the U.S. Capitol Riot.
