Brenda Jenkins is a retired educator with over thirty years of service to public schools. She is married and has children and grandchildren. In the fall of 2011, Brenda walked a 3-days walk for breast cancer. To fight boredom while training, she created rhymes about special times with her grandson. That spring, these memories took on a new perspective. Brenda was diagnosed with breast cancer. During the months of recuperation from surgeries, she decided to preserve her sweet memories as The Swing on Ginny's Porch.
