Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA)

Ali (RA) also went by the names Abul Hasan, Abu Turab, and Asadullah. He got the last nickname When he captured Khyber’s fortified “Kamus Fort.” Then, the Prophet (PBUH) bestowed the title “Asadullah” on him (Lion of Allah)

He was the Prophet’s cousin (PBUH). Ali (RA) was the first of the young men to convert to Islam. He was an unflinching fighter. For his bravery at the Battle of Badr, the Prophet (PBUH) bestowed upon him the sword ‘Zulfiqar’’

Al? was the son of Ab? ??lib, Muhammad's uncle and adopted guardian. After Ab? ??lib became impoverished, young ?Al? was taken in by Muhammad. At age 10, ?Al? became the second person to accept Islam, after Khad?jah, according to tradition. From then, he was a dedicated servant of the early Muslim ummah (community).

ALI as CALIPH. Ali was the caliph between 656 and 661 CE, one of the hardest periods in Muslim history, coinciding with the first Muslim civil war. He reigned over the Rashidun empire which extended from Central Asia in the east to North Africa in the west. He became known as a both just and fair ruler.

Ali ibn Abi Talib, the fourth Rashidun caliph and the first Shia Imam, was assassinated during the morning prayer on 28 January 661 CE, equivalent to 19 Ramadan 40 AH.

The Shrine of Hazrat Ali, also known as the Blue Mosque, is a mosque located in the heart of Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. It is one of the reputed burial places of Ali ibn Abi Talib, cousin and son-in law of Prophet Muhammad.
