We can’t even imagine what it must be like for those people who send out their loved ones overseas to defend their country. Parents, siblings, spouses and children stay at home, waiting for a phone call or a message to check in on who ever it is on the other side of the world that they miss so much. It can be months before they ever get to see them again, but it turns out that sometimes soldiers can ask for an early leave so that they may surprise their family for something big. A wedding, a birthday, or the arrival of a new family member.

The grandma has not met the baby yet, she is not even aware her son is in his home state. So he picks the girl up in his arms, swaddled in her blanket, while his wife records what is about to unfold.

They ring the bell and patiently wait for the front door to open, but when it does, the person they were expecting is actually bawling her eyes out inside, unable to get a grip of what is happening. That is her baby boy’s own baby, right there on her doorstep, here to meet her grandma for the first time.

Anyone who's had the honour and the pleasure to meet and spend time with their grandparents is very lucky. They can be a solace to any child, whether it's to get the things mom and dad don't let them have, the unique toys and treats, or their support in difficult times. Grandparents love you so much and only want the best for you in life.

But more often we see grandparents living too far away from their grandchildren, having been prevented to see them for one reason or the other. It's difficult and heartbreaking. That is why we got so warmed up when we saw this video.

This woman hasn't been able to travel in order to meet her newborn grandchild, so her son surprised her by showing on her doorstep, presenting her with the surprise of a lifetime. Once she realizes what's going on she instantly starts to cry. Such a heartwarming moment! This grandmother is going to remember this moment forever, what an exciting time for her! Fortunately the entire encounter was captured on camera, so that this family can cherish this wonderful moment forever! Adorable!
