Though this isn't the original version of this song, I always liked how this remix of it turned out. There's also a nice tempo change at 1:34 to give this track some more dynamism and a feeling of forward momentum. For those who follow my channels, you've likely heard the FL Studio version of this song already, so this is just one of the remixes than came just before. Tides of Destiny was completed on September of 2002. ...So, I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but like so many of my other tracker songs, Tides of Destiny was also originally going to be used in Elemental Blade Saga, the never-released, never-completed RPG me and my brother were attempting to make. For those interested, this song was going to be the overworld theme for the water planet. I don't recall what its name was or if we even had given names to any of the other worlds besides Lena. Before I forget to mention it, the original Tides of Destiny was composed in November of 1998. Just like the previous track, you probably noticed I was signing these songs with the DJ Axis moniker. One of my very early songs composed/arranged in Impulse Tracker 2.14! My Dreams was completed on July 7th, 2003! This track was made during a transitional period in my musical career, and also at a time when I was attempting (and failing) to get signed by a record label as well as work with vocalists. I'll save my rant about vocalists and record labels for another time though. The more relevant fact is that I was slowly migrating over to FL Studio from Impulse Tracker from 2002-2003 and this song was the last one I completed in IT2. At the time, I wasn't sure if my FL Studio music would have any momentum, being severely limited on samples, VSTs, and still being widely unfamiliar with the DAW's many features. I decided to stick with it and I suppose the results do speak for themselves. This won't be the last tracker song I upload, far from it in fact! I'm very happy that these are getting so much love. One of my very early songs composed/arranged in Impulse Tracker 2.14! Traveling Hearts was completed in November of 1999. More tracker music from way back in the day! Just like with Silverstream Clouds, this song also has an A-B-C sequence but unlike that song, Traveling Hearts doesn't repeat any of the previous sequences once percussion kicks in fully. Not much else to say about this song, other than I really like the chord progression in the C sequence especially. Silverstream Clouds is one of a few songs where I departed from the standard song progression in favor of an A-B-C sequence. (Though technically it goes A-B-A-C for this track!) Not much else to say about this one other than I have no idea why I never got around to remaking this track in FL Studio like I did with other songs. Another Retro Remix long before my show on ScrewAttack was a thing! Given this track was completed near the end of 2001, this would mark the beginning of the end for me using Impulse Tracker to make music. (Don't worry! I still have lots more tracker music to upload!) I didn't make much music in 2002, and when I did that was my first experience with FL Studio. As far as the song goes... what more can you say about Zelda? This theme in question is probably one of the most recognizable video game songs of all time. One of my very early songs composed/arranged in Impulse Tracker 2.14! Honor & Virtue was completed in June of 1999. I've been getting a lot of comments about my old tracker music sounding like it should be in an RPG. In some cases, it was actually intended to be part of an RPG soundtrack, but in the case of today's song it just sounds like it should. I'm not sure what I was going for with Honor & Virtue, other than to just mash up orchestral samples with some drum loops and see what happens. The third iteration of the melody gets kind of busy admittedly. In hindsight, I should've used a harp or something for the arpeggio instead of the pipe organ. If I ever go back in time, I'll be sure to advise past me not to do that. XD Anyway, I hope you enjoy this track as much as the previous tracker songs.
