Earliest Han Dynasty tomb full of relics discovered

A tomb dating back to the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC-25 AD) has been unearthed on the Wujiang River in Chongqing, southwest China. The tomb, remarkably well-preserved due to being filled with water, also contained over 600 relics including lacquerware, pottery and bronze.

‘It’s the earliest tomb of the Western Han Dynasty found in China, with a clear recorded year, and it is the most well-preserved wooden coffin tomb found in southwest China. It can be said that it’s quite significant,’ said Huang Wei, who led the project.
