Adventure Now Season 2 Ep.10 Sailing yacht Altor from Grimsey Island to Neskaupstadur in Iceland

Hello and thank you for tuning in again as we sail Altor of Down, a Moody 44 to Neskaupstadur in Iceland and then south to Klaksvik in the Faroe Islands.

In this episode we sail from Grimsey on the north coast of Iceland and make our way back to the east coast. In beautiful sailing conditions, with dolphins for company, we make it to Neskaupstadur where we moor Altor on a jetty outside the local museum. We expereince the finest Icelandic weather and explore the beautiful town. We explore the drainage tunnels through the massive walls that protect the town from avalanches and go on a road trip to see the glacier in Jokulsarlon National Park. We then look round the museum and find an incredible display of old artefacts and an even more impressive display of stuffed birds, fish, reptiles and animals! We also find a little oasis behind the massive walls. After spending a fantastic four weeks in Iceland, the furthest north that we have ever sailed, we leave and make the passage south to Klaksvik in the Faroe Islands. What a wonderful life this cruising life is.
