Garlic Harvest #Short

Our Zone 5b experience: Hard-neck varieties grow well in colder climates for fall planting (any time between late September & late October)
*Plant individual garlic cloves about 4 inches deep, about 5 inches apart & place in soil pointed side up
*Cover with soil and water well
*Top with a good, thick layer of chopped leaves and/or straw
*Let it do its thing all winter long until shoots start coming up in spring
*Once you see garlic scapes growing from middle of leaves, let them go until they curl a bit and then cut off so the growing energy goes towards the bulb under the ground (use scapes in cooking like you would garlic cloves)
*And finally, harvest garlic according to video!
