It is a focus on being in charge of people instead of serving the wants and needs of people, not only those who work in the corporate structures, but also the customers. The obvious cure is performance management, which is now denigrated in senior management circles. Competition ends incompetence by abandonment.

Federal DOE citing “potential environmental impact” for the reason to deny restarting power plants. So human life and property is secondary to environment.
