Abortion is never an act of compassion

There are about 2 million couples in the US waiting to adopt. That’s about 36 couples for every 1 child put up for adoption. No one is forcing you to become pregnant. But if you find yourself pregnant, and you’re not willing or able to act like the mother that you’ve now become, there is very likely a loving home for your baby.

So please stop with the references to poverty and child abuse and broken homes and single-mom homes, etc. Adoption isn’t the ideal, but once you’re pregnant, and if you truly can’t or won’t parent, adoption is the right thing to do. It is never an act of compassion to kill your own offspring.

If you’re truly concerned about the ramifications of child suffering or the (sometimes) negative outcomes of adoption: then don’t become pregnant. But once that life is created, you’re not doing anyone any favors by killing it.
