The last antiques auction of 2023 for Elstob Auctioneers in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England is the most interesting antiques auction I’ve seen in months. Paul Storr silver tureen at £15,000 leads the way for the traditional silver and a suite of solid cast silver candlesticks by modern artist and silversmith Patrick Mavros from Zimbabwe is the star lot in the modern silver section…original purchase cost was around £100,000 and the auction estimate is £30,000 to £40,000
Then there is the best collection of antique enamel boxes I’ve seen all year, as well as crystal pieces and a showroom full of small, interior design led pieces of antique furniture
