Pilot’s incredible skill saves plane during stormy landing

As Storm Bettina battered coasts across the Black Sea, not even the sky was safe. A Turkish Airlines flight was forced to abandon landing at the last minute, much to the astonishment of onlookers who captured the event on mobile phones. The plane in question was slightly above Turkey’s Ordu airport in Giresun, and was forced to remain that way as winds buffeted the plane off kilter and off course.Show more

A video of the aborted first landing attempt shows the plane struggling with high winds as it makes an uneven descent before ‘noping out’ at a jaunty angle (more technically known as a ‘go-around’). Let’s hope the passengers’ stomachs were as strong as the pilot’s flying skill.
