Truck Narrowly Avoids Running Over Kid On Bike

This is one of those CCTV videos where you have to watch loads of nothing happening, building up that suspense nicely, until the end comes and everything happens in the blink of an eye! Quite the impromptu thriller here.

The footage comes to us from a shop front on the streets of Ha Noi, Vietnam, as two boys were riding their bikes home from school. The see a semi driving towards them in the opposite direction and decide it is high time they climbed to the side walk and avoid the huge vehicle.

However, the boy out front miscalculated the amount of force necessary to scale the lip of the sidewalk, so he loses balance. And where does he tumble? Straight in the path of the semi’s tires!

Somehow, be it sheer luck or quick reflexes from the truck driver, the boy escaped getting run over, though it appears his backpack was underneath the truck's tire. A good Samaritan rushed to the boy's aid the moment he fell over, and it appears as if he was unscathed aside from maybe a few scratches from falling.

There are laws in certain countries about wearing helmets for a bike ride, but we are not convinced it would have helped the kid if he did wear one.
