Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

A Prophet’s message (prophecy) is therefore the revealed secret of God. At some point in everlasting (Tit 1:2, Rom 16:25, Eph 1:4, 2Th 2:13, 1Pe 1:20, Mic 5:2), the Godhead convened an assembly (Jer 23:22), at which point the secret things of God were discussed. As God has raised His prophets throughout human history, these secrets were revealed (Amo 3:7) to the prophets to then be given to God’s people (Pro 3:32) as prophecy. These revealed secrets were then to be understood (Job 15:8, Jer 23:18) by those who feared Him (Psa 25:14) and to reveal to those His covenant (Psa 25:14). Ultimately, the prophecy would then turn God’s people from their evil ways (Jer 23:22).

What message is given to God’s prophets through all ages?

And the Lord answered me, and said, ‘Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:2-3

The context of Habakkuk 2 is found in Habakkuk 1:

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days, which you all will not believe, though it be told you. Habakkuk 1:5

God was going to cause something to happen among the heathen that had never happened before and though the vision was told to them, they did not believe the Lord’s prophet. Habakkuk 2 is all about God encouraging His faithful prophet that the vision God gave him will come to pass – which was their destruction by the Chaldeans (modern day Muslims of Iraq) in Habakkuk 1:6. What is the result of God’s end time people faithfully answering the call to warn the people of the coming judgment of God, in other words, to prophesy again?
