"Never My Love," written by Dick and Don Addrisi, was the Association's 4th top 10 hit landing at the no. 2 position in 1967 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other artists that had a top 40 hit with the song included the 5th Dimension (1971, no. 12) and Blue Swede (1974, no. 7) (Whitburn, 2013). As a staple of Lite Rock radio, BMI, which tracks songs that are played on radio and TV, claimed that "'Never My Love' was the second-most played song on American radio and television in the 20th century, trailing only 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'' by the Righteous Brothers (songfests, 2023).
