Magistrate Nvanungi Sylvia remanded over corruption - Accused of soliciting over 10.48 million

A dramatic scene unfolded at the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala as Chief Magistrate Sylvia Nvanungu from Sembabule Court and Chief State Attorney Bako Jackline were charged and remanded on nine counts of corruption.
According to the prosecution, the two officials allegedly received a sum exceeding 10.4 million from suspects. This alleged gratification was supposedly to secure the release on bail of certain individuals and to exclude them from the charge sheet.
