Desserts:
Cuca:
Cuca is one of the most famous desserts in Rio Grande do Sul. It is a type of cake brought by German immigrants to Brazil.
The cuca has a flatter shape and an unmistakable coating. Some of the most traditional flavors of the cuca gaúcha are grapes, guava, condensed milk and chocolate.
Rice Pudding:
Sweet rice is a dish of Asian origin brought to Brazil by the Portuguese with a new element, cinnamon. In Rio Grande do Sul, rice pudding is prepared with cow's milk.
Ambrosia:
Ambrosia is a divine sweet long before US, born in Ancient Greece, it was considered the “delicacy of the Gods”. In Brazil, it was brought by the Portuguese and became a typical dish of both the miners and the Gauchos.
Milk pudding:
Milk pudding is a popular dessert throughout Brazil, but in Rio Grande do Sul, it is often made with condensed milk and topped with a caramel syrup. It is a sweet and creamy dish loved by people of all ages.
Pumpkin jam:
Pumpkin jam is another traditional sweet from Rio Grande do Sul. It is made by cooking pumpkin with sugar until it turns into a sweet and sticky compote. It is often served with cheese, creating a delicious combination of sweet and savory flavors.
Juices:
Butiá juice:
Butiá juice is a refreshing drink made from the fruit of the butiazeiro, a palm tree native to Rio Grande do Sul. The juice tastes sweet and slightly tart, making it perfect for hot summer days.
Pitanga juice:
Pitanga juice is made from the fruits of the pitangueira, a tree native to Brazil. The juice has a sweet and slightly acidic taste, similar to that of butiá juice.
Grape juice:
Grape juice is a very popular drink in Rio Grande do Sul, mainly due to the large production of grapes in the region. Grape juice is known to be rich in antioxidants and offer various health benefits.
Orange juice:

Chimarrão:
Although it is not technically a juice, Chimarrão is a traditional drink from Rio Grande do Sul that cannot be forgotten. Made with yerba mate, it is an important part of the Gaucho culture.
