The F-16 Viper is one of the most easily recognisable and successful JET FIGHTERs in the world. Conceived as a single-seat, single-engine, supersonic fighter aircraft, the F16 first took to the skies in 1974 and remains in frontline service to this day. In addition to the United States Air Force and Air National Guard, F-16 Falcons also serve with the Portuguese Air Force, Polish Air Force, Belgian Air Force and Egyptian Air Force (to name but a few) and it is also the chosen FIGHTER JET for the US Air Force Thunderbirds air demonstration squadron. The US Navy also operates the F-16 as an ADVERSARY / AGGRESSOR aircraft at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Nevada. Combat tested, the Viper has seen active service around the world and in numerous conflicts, including: the First Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm, and in Iraq and Afghanistan more recently. Today’s AVIATION ART release depicts an F-16 AGGRESSOR looking for trade high above the desert. Enjoy!
