I grew my first plant on my own recently, able to apply the two decades of knowledge I have built up in my brain to my own green thumb. I wanted to address this topic because there's a lot of misunderstanding amounts younger people, people in the twenties and such about the necessity of a tent.
Beyond containing the smell and being slightly more.convenient, it isn't necessary to spend that money. Not is it necessary to purchase a plethora of chemicals or various soils from online. Regular top soil and planting soil will do, although there's someone treating you'll do to make up for the lack of big bug, and blah blah blah. I may not be an expert as of yet, but I can help you get a seed to your bowl or onto your press without crazy chemicals or big purchases.
If you wish to go that route, it's laid out for you. But prior to those being sold on mass, people had to figure things out. Like making calcium bioavailaybke to control dosing more than just adding egg shell to compost. That compost idea will have it ready in budding, but to dose with calcium you can make a bioavailable solution using vinegar and eggshell, where the vinegar acid is neutralized by the reaction of separating the calcium carbonate.
People sometimes don't like the idea of using some techniques, like urine dillute for nitrogen and Phosphorus. You can dose with oxygenated water to cleanse over feeding, by using hydrogen peroxide dillute.
