The Most Dangerous Video Game Character - First Super Mario Goomba

In video games, some opponents are hard to defeat and impossible to destroy, and some that just take advantage of your poor gameplay. One character that I see defeat gamers over and over again is perhaps one of the most unassuming characters ever. But his kill count has to be one of the highest in all of video games. And of course, talking about the very first Goomba in Super Mario Bros. Or as I like to call him, the most dangerous video game character you ever forgot to jump over.

From the word go, I have seen so many players take off in a dead sprint, just to run into this little booger. He's quiet and unassuming, but he also knows exactly what to do to take you out of your game. He's not a complicated enemy, he doesn't throw stuff at you, he just walks from one side of the screen to the other and back again. How can he be so difficult to defeat? Well, he is, and he lets you know early on that you're his huckleberry in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Whether it is your younger sibling, a parent who isn't very good at video games, or your grandmother Ethel, everybody at some point in time has died at the hands of this roaming goomba in the very first level of Super Mario Bros. on the NES. It's as if Nintendo programmed him to slap you in the face from the get-go. I'm not sure if it is because we all assume he is so easy to defeat since all that he does is walk, but his kill count is incredibly high. sure, the Hammer Brothers throw stuff at you, and Bowser spits fire at you, but this one little goomba has taken out his fair share of Mario's over the years.
