TIMELINE

1 – 00:00:40 – See Ep. 90 for the zoom covering the Amanda Turner case
Watch and hear Liz deconstruct a video of Sean Plunkett interviewing Andrew Shaw (an employment lawyer in Auckland who does actually seem to know that the health and Safety at Work Act) – See link below.
Siouxsie Wiles is a chemist and molecular biologist who worked at the University of Auckland during the COVID pandemic. She joined the government's COVID response team and helped communicate their strategies.
Wiles is suing her employer, University of Auckland, in Employment Court over harassment she received during her COVID response work.
Wiles helped communicate government COVID strategies and became a prominent figure, receiving some criticism. Essentially being a proxy politician
She argues the University failed its health and safety duties by not protecting her from this work-related harassment.
There is debate over how responsible the University was given some work was for external agencies.
The case will decide if and how liable the University was for issues from Wiles' public profile promoting COVID responses on behalf of her employer.
It may clarify employer duties regarding employee safety risks from public advocacy roles.

2 – 00:09:38 – Discussion and viewing of Damien De Ment’s video discussing “actress and proxy politician” Wiles and Shaun Cameron Hendy of Te Pūnaha Matatini.
Damien De Ment visited Shaun Hendy's office at the University of Auckland to ask questions about alleged CCP connections.
He claims to have audio recording proving a brief and calm interaction where he was politely asked to leave three times.
However, Henry and others later portrayed it as Damien threatening them, prompting police involvement.
Damien believes Hendy settled a similar lawsuit against the university due to these "rules for me but not for thee" double standards.
He criticizes Wiles' hypocrisy in claiming free speech rights while silencing others' questions.
Damien makes claims that Wiles was part of a criminal conspiracy to decimate NZ's population through COVID policies based on faulty Chinese modelling.
He believes Wiles and the university will be historically loathed, and says they should drop the case to improve their public image.

3 – 00:23:24 – Anthea Williams. See content links for signing of the treason document.
Discussion on how the treasury was getting COVID modelling data from China early in the pandemic and speculates this was linked to destroying capitalism and businesses.
Rodney Jones, who works for George Soros, is alleged to have supplied modelling data to the treasury from China. More research on his background and links is suggested.
Wiles' lawsuit argues the university failed in its health and safety duties. Parallels are drawn to how employers enforced COVID rules outside work.
Free speech issues are raised in relation to Wiles being prohibited from publishing. Previous cases are discussed.
Any new information on Rodney Jones' links to government agencies like possible past work at the treasury would be interesting. Clips of him discussing economic issues are requested.

4 – 00:47:29 – The discussion references an OIA (Official Information Act) request about COVID modelling data from Shawn Hendy that the Treasury claimed to not have any records of.
Damien was asking questions about this and seems to have relevant context.
Comments about how the government is not always forthcoming in their OIA responses.
Reference to Erika researching exemptions from vaccination requirements. 11,005, 6000 plus more being discovered.
Discussion of issues with government spending billions on the pandemic response and lockdowns.
Questions raised about principles of political neutrality in the public service.
Mention of John Campbell's comments identifying issues over the last few years in New Zealand and his work in South Africa.
Comments about the importance of freedom of speech and using the law and constitution to challenge restrictions.
Overview provided of Amanda's fundraising efforts to support her legal costs appealing her employment case, including international donations platform and local website.
Background given on some relevant laws and precedents like Sue Gray's free speech case that will support Amanda's arguments.

5 – 01:02:57 – Discussion of the importance of Amanda's case for free speech and challenges to COVID policies and laws. Potentially historic and setting precedents not just in NZ.
Reference to questions about Treaty of Waitangi and colonial impact on NZ laws. Law comes from Imperial Acts passed when NZ was part of British Empire.
Comments about fundraising efforts helping show support and attract additional lawyers to get wider attention for the case.
Overview provided of legal processes and jurisdictions in NZ: mediation, Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court.
Tribunals mentioned include Small Claims/Disputes Tribunal, Tenancy Tribunal, building tribunals.
Details on proceeding levels from District Court upward.
Māori Land Court handles Māori land issues. Waitangi Tribunal provides non-binding recommendations to the Crown on Treaty issues.
Crown Forestry Rental Trust
Suggestion to have Damien come on to discuss the case further given his relevant knowledge. Location of Employment Court in Wellington provided.

OTHER
Crown Forestry relates to some key points:
Crown (or State) Forestry refers to commercial plantation forests owned and managed by the New Zealand government.
The Crown Forestry Rental Trust was set up in 1984 to manage finances from Crown Forestry lands and allocate funds collected from leasing or licensing these lands.
It is suggested that while the Crown puts its name on Crown Forestry lands, these lands actually belong to all New Zealand citizens as the public paid to establish the forests through state forestry profits.
There is a questioning of whether the Crown/government truly has ownership over these lands, or if it is in fact held in trust for all New Zealanders.
Crown Forestry funds paid into the rental trust help cover the costs of things like Waitangi Tribunal investigations and hearings. This means taxpayer money funds the tribunal's historical research.
It is implied this arrangement benefits professional historians and lawyers involved in the tribunal process.
