In this short I discuss the requirements of a Court of Record . There are 4 criteria for a Court of Record and a 5th might be in use. The 5th is that it can have a seal. Most do, but it's a non-issue for the most part. The first two are not unusual to most folks and benign: 1) can fine or imprison for contempt and 2) keeps a record. Not shocking. The other two requirements though, they are material. 3) The magistrate and tribunal are independent from one another and 4) proceeds according to common law. Wanna know more?
