🌟 What is Yoga Nidra and why can it help with falling asleep?

Yoga Nidra is an ancient meditative technique originating from India. This practice involves a guided narration while the participant rests, inducing a state of profound relaxation. During Yoga Nidra, you are led through a sequence of relaxation and sometimes visualization exercises.

Despite its name, which translates to 'yogic sleep,' the primary aim of Yoga Nidra is not necessarily to induce sleep. Instead, its purpose is to concentrate on the guiding voice and explore deeper realms of consciousness. However, it is worth noting that many people find it conducive to falling asleep quickly due to the deeply relaxed state it induces.

It's important to note that the effectiveness of Yoga Nidra for sleep can vary from person to person. Some people may experience immediate improvements, while others might need consistent practice over time to see significant changes. While others may feel more awake than before the practice.

If this does not help you fall asleep, try rubbing your feet on the bed. Then focus your attention on your feet for several minutes, which for me is a tried and tested method.
