Day 17 update: Israel ramps up strikes on Gaza - amid discord over invasion strategy. Date: Oct 23, 2023

The Israeli military has said that the delay in its expected ground offensive is due to "strategic considerations" and "the entire situation in the Middle East".

A fourth convoy of aid trucks is expected to be allowed into Gaza, bringing more urgently needed food, water and medical supplies - although the UN said it would struggle to continue distributing supplies unless Israel lifts its embargo on fuel deliveries too.
