Day 12 update: Biden backs Israel as Middle East protests Gaza hospital blast. Date: Oct 18, 2023

If the atmosphere in the region was already incendiary, last night’s strike on a hospital in Gaza quickly set an inferno.

Enraged protestors flooded the streets in the occupied West Bank, Lebanon, Turkey and across the Arab world.

And it was into this that US President Joe Biden landed today.

He quickly made clear he stood by the Israeli claim that it was not their strike but a misfired rocket from a militant group.
