The Depths We Plummet:
A Poem

“What depth have we,
Whether by microscope, needle, or thought,
That can wick the walls of our heart with light?

The abyss in which we stare,
Is inwardly ourselves.
The abyss that stares back,
Is outwardly our resentment.
The Light that consumes the abyss,
Is everywhere God.

There is no inward depth,
Only endless plummet.
For God is without and within—
Ever present.
Without form, yet the ‘Former’ of all.

The Dawning Light does not break from depth;
Instead from breadth and substance.
Don’t miss the creator of ‘trees’
For the concept of ‘forests.’
