Jointly developed by the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany, the TORNADO blasted from the drawing boards of the ‘70s into the Cold War skies above Europe, where it would remain for decades to follow. With almost 40 years of continuous frontline service as an interceptor, bomber and reconnaissance aircraft, the combat-tested Tornado JET FIGHTER continues to serve several air forces to this day. Today’s aviation art release depicts a Tornado racing through a high-altitude sunset, where the origins of its unofficial nickname the ‘Mini Tomcat’ are clearly apparent!
