Photograph (Ringo Star, 1973). Live cover performance by Bill Sharkey, Home Studio, Hawaii Kai, HI. 2023-10-18. "Keeping the Oldies & Classics Alive"

"Photograph," written by George Harrison and Ringo Starr, was Ringo's third top 10 hit and first no. 1 hit landing on the top position in 1973 (Whitburn, 2013). "Starr and Harrison began writing the song in the South of France in May 1971. . . .The pair played 'Photograph' during an evening get-together that included their wives Maureen Starkey and Pattie Boyd, and singer Cilla Black. They all contributed ideas for the lyrics" (songfacts, 2023). Harrison played the 12 string guitar and sang harmony on the record (P. Sexton, udiscovermusic, Oct. 6, 2023).

Lyrics:

Every time I see your face
It reminds me of the places we used to go
But all I've got is a photograph
And I realize you're not coming back anymore

I thought I'd make it
The day you went away
But I can't make it
Till you come home again to stay

I can't get used to living here
While my heart is broke, my tears I cry for you
I want you here to have and hold
As the years go by, and we grow old and gray

Now you're expecting me to live without you
But that's not something that I'm looking forward to

I can't get used to living here
While my heart is broke, my tears I cry for you
I want you here to have and hold
As the years go by, and we grow old and gray

Every time I see your face
It reminds me of the places we used to go
But all I've got is a photograph
And I realize you're not coming back anymore
