"Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye," written by John D. Loudermilk, was the Casinos' only top 40 hit rising to the no. 6 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967 (Whitburn, 2013). Other artists who charted with the song include Glen Campbell (no. 27, 1976 as a medley "Don't Pull Your Love/Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye, which also hit the no. 4 position on the Billboard Country Songs chart)," Toby Beau (no. 57, 1979) and Eddie Arnold (no. 84, 1968). Arnold's version, however, rose to the number one position on the Billboard Country chart and in 1996, Neal McCoy had a no. 4 hit on the Country chart (songfacts, 2023; Whitburn, 2013). Songfacts stated: "The odds of this becoming a pop hit in '67 weren't great. The Casinos' doo-wop stylings and clean-cut image were falling out of fashion by the mid-'60s as America was firmly in the grip of Beatlemania, and long-haired, blue-jeans-wearing youths were embracing the laid-back hippie aesthetic. . .
