Leaders of Arua district have called upon the public to embrace unity as a remedy of making sense to Uganda’s 61st independence celebrations.

The remarks were made during the independence celebration organized by Arua district at Vurra sub county headquarters, Omogoro.

According to Arua district Resident District Commissioner, Geoffrey Okiswa, lack of unity distorts government programs like Parish Development Model program that is aimed at alleviating poverty among Ugandans.

Meanwhile, chief of Ayivu county, Manasse Yuma cautioned people against unplanned sale of land, as he described landless citizens of a country as being un independent people.
