Slovakia just had a very critical parliamentary election in which the Social Democratic SMER Party under its leader Robert Fico won the biggest share of seats. With 23% of elector share—which actually translates to control of 28% of parliament—Fico is now the leader of Slovakia’s biggest party and on Monday the Slovak president gave him the OK to try to move forward to form a coalition government if he can find enough support from other parties.
