Habit Number 1: Be Proactive
From the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey (add it to your reading list!)

Habit Number 1 of Being Proactive is the most important habit of all seven of the habits for highly effective people. This is because without first implementing the habit of being proactive, you cannot unlock the other six habits. Here are the skills you will need to learn to start being proactive in your life.

1. Creating a “ pause button.”
2. Recognizing the difference between your circle of concern and your circle of influence.
3. Developing your 5 Unique Human Gifts (self-awareness, conscience, imagination, independent will, and your sense of humor).

Mastering the Art of being proactive, will take time. Do not give up. If you do not see results immediately! Remember the Chinese bamboo tree!
