Minecraft and the Bible - Genesis 28-30 ⛏️📖

In this Let's Play series, we'll be reading the book of Genesis from the Bible while playing Minecraft! We'll follow along as Jacob flees from his brother Esau after stealing his blessing, and how he finds love and success in a new land. We'll also see how God continues to bless Jacob and his family, even though Jacob makes mistakes.

Genesis 28-30 is a continuation of the story of Jacob and his family. Jacob flees from his brother Esau after stealing his blessing, and he travels to Haran, where his mother's relatives live. There, he meets his future wives, Rachel and Leah, and he begins to build a family.

Genesis 28 tells the story of Jacob's dream at Bethel. On his way to Haran, Jacob stops to rest for the night. He has a dream in which he sees a ladder that reaches from heaven to earth, and angels are ascending and descending the ladder. God appears to Jacob in the dream and promises to bless him and his descendants, and to give them the land of Canaan. Jacob wakes up from the dream and names the place Bethel, which means "house of God."

Genesis 29 tells the story of Jacob's meeting with Rachel and Leah. Jacob arrives in Haran and meets Rachel at a well. He falls in love with Rachel and agrees to work for her father, Laban, for seven years in exchange for Rachel's hand in marriage. After seven years, Laban tricks Jacob into marrying Leah instead of Rachel. Jacob then works for another seven years to marry Rachel.

Genesis 30 tells the story of Jacob's growing family. Rachel is unable to conceive, so she gives Jacob her servant Bilhah to marry. Bilhah gives birth to two sons, Dan and Naphtali. Leah is also jealous of Rachel's fertility, so she gives Jacob her servant Zilpah to marry. Zilpah gives birth to two sons, Gad and Asher. Eventually, Rachel is able to conceive and gives birth to Joseph.
