Minecraft and the Bible - Genesis 21-24

In this Let's Play series, we'll be reading the book of Genesis from the Bible while playing Minecraft! We'll follow along as Abraham and Sarah finally have their son, Isaac, and as God makes a covenant with Abraham and his descendants. We'll also see how Abraham banishes his concubine Hagar and her son Ishmael, and how God provides for them in the wilderness.

Genesis 21-24 is a continuation of the story of Abraham and his family. God fulfills his promise to Abraham and Sarah by giving them a son, Isaac. God also makes a covenant with Abraham and his descendants, promising to bless them and make them a great nation.

Genesis 21 tells the story of the birth of Isaac. Abraham and Sarah are overjoyed at the birth of their son, and Abraham throws a great feast. When Isaac is weaned, Sarah asks Abraham to banish her concubine Hagar and her son Ishmael. Abraham is reluctant to do this, but God tells him to obey Sarah's request. Abraham banishes Hagar and Ishmael into the wilderness, but God provides for them.

Genesis 22 tells the story of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice Isaac. God tests Abraham's faith by commanding him to sacrifice his son Isaac. Abraham is willing to obey God, but just as he is about to kill Isaac, God provides a ram as a substitute sacrifice. God blesses Abraham for his faith.

Genesis 23 tells the story of the death of Sarah. Sarah dies at the age of 127, and Abraham mourns her deeply. Abraham buys a burial plot from Ephron the Hittite in Hebron, and he buries Sarah there.

Genesis 24 tells the story of Abraham's servant finding a wife for Isaac. Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for Isaac from his own relatives. The servant goes to Haran, where he finds Rebekah and convinces her to come back to Canaan with him to marry Isaac. Abraham and Isaac are overjoyed when Rebekah arrives, and they celebrate their marriage.
