Sounds of Kannada / Mastery of Sound in Kannada (Episode 1 of 5) | Pushpa Notes Channel

There are 49 alphabets in the Kannada Language. The breath originates from the navel and moves through the vocal tract creating unique sounds for the swaras(vowels) and the vyanjanas (consonants). This was described by Keshi Raja in his literary work - Shabdahmani Darpanam
ಕೇಶಿರಾಜನು ಭಾಷಾವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿ,
ಶಬ್ದಮಣಿದರ್ಪಣಂ ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಯಾವ ಯಾವ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ
ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳು ಹೊಕ್ಕಳದ ಮೂಲಭಾಗದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟ ಶಬ್ದವೊಂದರಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟುತ್ತವೆ. ಹಾಗೆ ಹೊರಟ ಶಬ್ದವು ಗಂಟಲು, ದವಡೆ, ಮೂರ್ಧ(ನಾಲಗೆಯ ಮೇಲ್ಭಾಗದ ಭಾಗ), ತುಟಿ, ಹಲ್ಲು – ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಅವಯವಗಳ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳಾಗುತ್ತವೆ.
