Babel is far more than just a telling of how the nations came to be. It was a third rebellion that sent humanity spiraling away from Yahweh once more. Only this time, Yahweh would have to react differently because of the covenant he made with Noah never to Flood the earth again. And what he does will set the course of the rest of the Bible and, arguably, the course of human history.
