Coast to Coast Cycle (C2C) Across England: A Mini Review of an Epic Bike Trip | UK Travel

A review of the Coast to Coast (or C2C) cycle across the whole of England whilst making my way home. Day 5: Sunderland-Birmingham - saying goodbye to the rest of Team Low Rider and making my way from Sunderland to Durham and on to Birmingham.

We had a chilled morning in Sunderland and then said our goodbyes before I cycled to Durham (it made most sense for me to get my train from here but I wasn’t super pleased about it after the previous four days!). The route had some nice views and then some heart in mouth moments as Google Maps tool me on a VERY fast dual carriageway. I made the train and the weather was glorious upon arriving back in Birmingham - the best of the whole trip!

// Extra C2C info // Our route was from Whitehaven, on the west coast, to Sunderland, on the east coast. This is possibly the best C2C route, taking us through England’s Lake District National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. How long does it take to do the C2C cycle? Some people do it in a single day, whereas others take a week or more; we decided to do it over four days so we could take our time and enjoy the beauty of the areas we were cycling through!
