How Gratitude Can Make You More Resilient!

In this video we will be talking about one of my favorite topics - gratitude can help you be more resilient,.
First, what does it mean to be resilient?
It means to positively adapt during adversity.
And to help you strengthen your ability to positively adapt and be more resilient, the best thing that you can practice - especially when you are going through a really challenging time -- is gratitude.
Your brain has a natural negativity bias, which really just means that it is much more sensitive to anything that is wrong or stressful or negative than to anything that is good. Your brain does this because it is trying to protect you from danger. It doesn't care how happy you are -- it is focused on keeping you safe and danger usually comes with a lot of negative stimuli.
It is important to remember that when you are going through something difficult in your life, your negativity bias get even more sensitive because your brain perceives change and challenge as potential danger.
That is is why practicing gratitude is such an important thing to do, to help you be more resilient, when you are going through a hard time. When you practice gratitude you are reminding your brain that yes they are challenges, there are good things in your life that you appreciate. This helps to balance out your brain's negativity bias and gives you strength to keep going.
Gratitude is a skill that I encourage you to practice daily, especially when you are going through a hard time. And it's not difficult to do - all it requires is for you to pause and actively focus your attention what you appreciate in your life.
