Russell Brand is met by cheers at sold-out Wembley gig as he makes first appearance since being accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse - while telling fans ‘there’s some things I cannot talk about’

The comedian was due to take to the stage at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre at 7pm to perform his show Bipolarisation but is now stuck on the 'M40'. Pictures from inside the venue show supporters as they started to trickle in to watch the 48-year-old's show, amid concerns the event could be scrapped amid the bombshell allegations against Brand. But he is running late, his audience has been told. An announcement played to the theatre said: 'Russell is stuck in traffic on the M40. The start will be closer to 7.40pm. He is 100 per cent on his way. He is looking forward to seeing you soon.'
