Being a child of God is not only or primarily about the assurance of Heaven - we don’t become Christians to ensure that we are not going to Hell but rather, we become Christians to work in The Kingdom of God. It's a job we take on with Jesus Christ as our CEO. Every Christian should know what the expectations of this job are so that they can do it. Too many Christians believe that they are supposed to be served and that their faith is merely about making sure that they become comfortable on Earth so they go to Church on Sunday, and 98% of their prayers are prayer requests about broken relationships, financial needs, and so on. A true follower of Christ must have a servant mindset and like Isaiah or all the other people, answer the call…

And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” - Matthew 9:35-38

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus Christ established His Church (not the seen but those written in The Book of Life). His Church is alive today carried in the hearts of humanity to those who open the door when He knocks and allow their bodies to become The Temple of The Holy Spirit to partner with Christ in carrying out the mandate of His office. To those who are called and referred to in 1 Peter 2:9…

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. - 1 Peter 2:9
