Human zygotes are…human 🤦🏻‍♀️

A human zygote is human. It has human DNA—an entirely unique set of human DNA, all the DNA required to eventually grow into the human fetus, the human baby, the human child, and the human adult he will eventually become.

A sperm will never be anything but a sperm. An egg will never be anything but an egg. But once an egg is fertilized, a whole, individuated, genetically-distinct living human organism is formed. All the parts are there. It merely needs time, nutrients, and the proper environment to grow. Obviously there are natural mishaps that occur and stop a fetus from being born—just like there are natural causes that sometimes prevent a child from growing into adulthood. That doesn’t excuse direct human intervention to stop another genetically-distinct and innocent human life from continued growth and development.
