"Over You," written by Jerry Fuller, was Gary Puckett & the Union Gap's fourth consecutive top 10 hit rising to the no. 7 position in 1968. All four of these singles were awarded gold record status (sale of over 1,000,000 copies each) by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA, 2023; Whitburn, 2013) and all four were on the Billboard chart in 1968. In fact, in 1968, the Union Gap sold more records than the Beatles that year (songfacts, 2023). The other hits Jerry Fuller wrote for the Union Gap were Young Girl and Lady Willpower (Whitburn, 2013). Drummer Paul Wheatbread and Guitarist, Bassist and Saxophonist Dwight Bement went on to join Flash Cadillac & the Continental Kids (Whitburn, 2013).
