I brought some of my blackwork embroidery (aka Holbein stitch or double-running stitch) for my first time entering a Tournament of Arts. I have participated in numerous A&S (arts and sciences) displays, as well as Craftspersons Greens and A&S competitions. However, this was my first TOA.

This is a recap of my experience at my first TOA.

For anyone curious about what exactly the 'SCA' is -- The Society for Creative Anachronism is an international, non-profit educational organization that studies and recreates the medieval and Renaissance years of 600-1600AD.
