Achari Gosht is a popular Indian dish made with lamb or mutton that has been marinated in a mixture of spices and pickles. The dish is typically cooked in a curry sauce and served with rice or naan.

Ingredients

1 kg (2.2 lb) lamb or mutton, cut into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes
1 cup (250 ml) plain yogurt
1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped onion
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped cilantro
1/4 cup (60 ml) lemon juice
1/4 cup (60 ml) pickled mango or lemon, chopped
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the lamb, yogurt, onion, ginger-garlic paste, tomato paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the lamb. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the lamb and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides.
Add the cilantro, lemon juice, and pickled mango or lemon. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the lamb is tender.
Serve hot with rice or naan
